I keep seeing people say this, but there are no "others," there's no "everyone else."

To do anything with Stormblood you have to be caught up on hundreds of main story quests from the original game and Heavensward. The only people who are getting Stormblood at all are people who are looking to jump into that content, and thus they all pre-ordered it. All pre-orders come with "early access." There may be a small number of people who quit while close to finishing Heavensward, or who will pay an additional $50 to be ready, but again the vast majority of even that group will have pre-ordered. People simply do not go to stores on the day an expansion for an MMO comes out to buy it.

This is nothing like a new game, and even though they're calling it "early access," it's undoubtedly the largest group of people coming in today, not on the 20th.

I've been trying to log in for 6 hours now but never even seen my character in the start menu once. What I have is an empty character selection screen with an "unable to obtain data due to server congestion" message.

So I dont even know about that MSQ issues you guys are talking about...

Unless you have name change pending, you can just log in even if it shows that message instead of character.

Which wouldn't be a problem except for everything that is locked behind the MSQ.

Precisely what I'm wondering. Are they trying to slow MSQ progression to keep the content spread out?

Also anyone also been getting an issue where Raubahn stops responding to you after a while? I noticed that after an two or three of trying to get in, he stops initiating a dialogue and you can't attempt to get in. Wonder if this is some sort of counter measure against people trying to brute force their way in. I often relog when this happens (queues are surprisingly small when I relog like this).

When he said "we need more time to solve the issue", he meant "It'll take a while until everyone got past that point with the limited instances".

SE needs to get new team that knows what to do. Not once have seen whole party in potd all dc at once. Never before have seen 40+ players all dc together at once. Time for a new team to take over.

Honestly at this point I would rather have you take the servers down so you can fix this. Since so few people are getting past this the content AFTER this quest isn't being done either, and if I have to go without the game for a few hours so that everyone (or at least more people) can do this at the same time, I'll take that at this point.
