No. Compensation implies them giving us something extra for free because of this issue.

Another idea I had was for them to just give us automatic quest completion for this and let us view the cutscene so we can move on.

On WOD launch Blizzard gave everyone who logged on during the first week a free extra week of gametime because the first 2 days of the expansion were pretty much unplayable.
