all I hear are excuses but zero solutions

This is a meaningless apology. That's really all there is to say.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but the early access/launch of HW did not have this many issues. I was able to get to Sohm Al on my first night of doing the MSQ during early access in 2015.
I'd like to know what was different this time around, besides the obvious ones, of course.

The only issue with HW early access I remember was a login queue for the first 2 or so days and that was it...Correct me if I'm wrong, but the early access/launch of HW did not have this many issues. I was able to get to Sohm Al on my first night of doing the MSQ during early access in 2015.

You were lucky then, I was unable to play HW before the official launch and I'd gotten the early access. It was impossible to log on as (IIRC) the login server crapped itself more often than not.

Yeah HW was hit or miss. Some people had queues but got in ok and all was well. Others couldn't at all. But I'd say those are pretty standard issues. Servers crapping out the first day or so is an unfortunate reality but otherwise there were no massive game breaking issues I recall once you could get in. ARR however had a similar issue with the MSQ and that is why in HW it was a long time before there was a solo instance, which gave the population time to disperse. That, more than anything, is what I find annoying. It was an issue that was addressed very well in HW and then somehow the whole design team had their memories of it wiped and here we are again.

There's two ways I could see this fiasco not happening:ARR however had a similar issue with the MSQ and that is why in HW it was a long time before there was a solo instance, which gave the population time to disperse. That, more than anything, is what I find annoying. It was an issue that was addressed very well in HW and then somehow the whole design team had their memories of it wiped and here we are again.
1) Within the design, ensure that people don't get locked out a majority of the zones prior to encountering a solo instance.
2) When they moved the Data Center, take this opportunity to stress test the Instance Server.
But yeah, HW was annoying, but at least the people who got in could play. Right now, sure you can get in, but you're severely limited in what you can do.
Early access was a bonus for buying early. Same price. Compensation =$0
"some people took time off from work"

"They knew exactly how many people got early access"
This is a moving number. People are still buying SB at this moment and getting early access automatically... probably more since early access started than in the months prior.
Still, the rage is real. Expectations are not being met due to predictable design flaws. Remember this before the next Expac and remind SE at every QA opportunity leading up to it.
I think I will go take my anger out by killing some beasts on my alt, Geralt. Or seek comfort in the arms of Yennefer. She's way prettier than Raubahn anyway.
I wish they could replace Raubahn with that IT guy from Jurassic Park, waggling his finger, denying access.

Accurate estimates would still have been possible. It may be a moving number, but you can often estimate and be rather accurate by seeing how the numbers rose over time.
