Unable to Download Stormblood

RESOLVED: Flushed DNS to solve.

My boyfriend is unable to download the Stormblood patch on his PC. I was able to download everything just fine but every time he gets to 1065MB, then it stops. We've tried everything we can think of short of redownloading the launcher: restarting PC, restarting launcher, running as administrator, different wifi network, different accounts, turned off virus protection, etc.

Any suggestions?


Edit: I should mention that the way it stops downloading is it gets to 1065 MB and then the download speed drops to 0 MB/s.

I just helped a friend with a similar issue. It seemed disabling the router firewall OR enabling DMZ did the trick. I hear changing the DNS server setting also work, but I have not tried that personally. I know you said he tried other wireless networks, but it seems to be a bug between communication with the PC and router settings.

Unfortunately, the DNS change did not work and it seems pretty difficult to enable DMZ on a Xfinity box. Any other suggestions?

I was having the exact same issue until a few minutes ago. Changing the DNS didn't work and neither did downloading through a VPN. What ended up working for me is I turned off Windows Firewall (temporarily! Make sure you turn it back on afterwards haha) and also hardwired my connection. Hope this helps!

He already turned off the Windows Firewall as well. I think it will end up needing a hard wire connection but we're pretty far from the router. We'll have to look into it later today.

If anyone else has a suggestion, I'd be willing to try it. Otherwise I'll aim for the hard wire. Thank you all for your help! ^^

When it comes to problems like this, hardwire/ethernet cable connections will usually do the trick.

Also, give the following a try:

- Open a Command Prompt
- ipconfig /all - gives you adapter info
- ipconfig /release, /renew, /flushdns

He should just delete his game and copy/paste your updated game. I've done this several times before and It works without problems.
