I mean, other MMOs seem to have fixed this problem... where's that Japanese ingenuity?

Probably to stop everyone from surging back in together- that's what queues are for.
Why instead of maybe lagging behind for a few seconds does the slightest connection hiccup instantly boot you and then you have to wait 2-3 minutes for your character to self logout before you can get back in? This is the only multiplayer game in existance that works like this and it makes the game unplayable for me.
Then stop playing and come back in a week or two.Why instead of maybe lagging behind for a few seconds does the slightest connection hiccup instantly boot you and then you have to wait 2-3 minutes for your character to self logout before you can get back in? Giving you a bad solution to a bad problem when a good solution isn't readily available isn't excusing SE. What gave you that impression?

I'm not making excuses for SE. I have enough understanding to realize that "Early Access" really means "Stress Test". Its a blatant deception to secure your money and the best way to avoid it is to not buy until its been out for at least a week, especially if its going to cause you undo stress or anger. Patience is everything in these situations.
Omgoodness... its day 1 of a big expansion patch naturally congestion is high due to the hype.. queues n overload on servers is to be expected
