Pro isnt worth the upgrade unless you have a 4k tv. Stick with youre OG ps4 for now
Visually most games see some improvement even with non 4K tv, as Sony had done a hdr update.
Myself i upgraded to a Pro before got a 4K but sure looks nice now that i have a 4K TV
For FFXIV however the regular PS4 is fine.
I think closer to what they said was they were looking into it, to see if it would run nicely with the other versions cuz they didn't want to make a standalone version. I think recently they did continue talking to Nintendo/Microsoft about porting to their systems, but Microsoft has just been difficult as always and they're trying to see if it could be worked out on Nintendo platforms for the future.
For all my opinion's worth, I highly doubt it'll be on the switch. They wouldn't drop one weak system to pick up another. I know Yoshi has wanted to port it over to Nintendo but in my honest opinion, it'd be taking a step back to ps3 times, where you have to account for a system lower than a ps4. They said no promises, but I don't think the performance is there to sustain a game like ffxiv on a portable console without having to revert to patch considerations for lower end tech of the switch. And, well, XBox version would be there if Microsoft would drop the "We want our own servers" and "We'll still require XBox gold" issues.
I disagree. While it's not pronounced, honestly camera movement and overall experience feels better on the Pro vs the regular PS4. This is particularly noticeable if you're using the "legacy" movement or whatever it is. The one where your character moves with the camera.
But, hey, what would I know.
(I only play racing sims and demand a perfectly smooth frame rate experience so....)
I honestly see the game is smoother on ps4 pro vs the original one.
