care to share your settings for FPS improvement? Kugane is sub-30fps 100% of the time for me.
Kugane has been smooth, Frontlines was mostly smooth before Pro patch with boost mode anyway and now its dropless, Dungeons have been smooth, even the Fringe yes was smooth, though that didn't really matter at the time anyway.( Still had the error)
Don't really know what else to tell you other than what I've experienced. Aside from DCing sooo much during the first few EA days and the Cold Steel issue I haven't really had much problems.
Im not a PS4 user but my suggestion would be that you turn everything to lowest at first and then start rising each setting one by one, tho i would keep shadows in minium and stuff like glare off and maybe tweak some water reflections as i found those being most taxing ones.

Don't feel lied too, for the specifications (and the current state is way beyond what the game will always be like in terms of population) of the Pro, it is doing a fantastic job. I have the 'High' graphic setting for the additional features, and full animations from everyone, and even running around Kugane or getting into huge FATEs the frame rate has been more than acceptable, I don't think I've ever felt like I was being hard done to by it at all or struggling to control / react due to frame rate trouble.
Compared to using Boost alone, it seems to be a much smoother curve of performance, and much less instances of dropping to the point where it becomes frustrating. PvP was much, much smoother than prior as well.
Also, miles beyond the baseline PS4. Definitely really been happy with it so far, would recommend to those perhaps on the fence about it.

The only place I get HORRID framerate is Kugane. Ala Mhigo dungeon also has weird obvious drops. No reason it shouldn't be 60 in a dungeon.
Tonight, playtime 2h30, I had no framerate issues AT ALL for 2h20:
- LOGIN queue time: 1h50
- DUTY queue time: 30min
next 10min were acceptable; really no idea, duty pop woke me up.
That makes a ratio of (2h20/2h30 =) +93% unarguably positive framerate feedback.
Improving.
Steady 60fps everywhere? Post your CPU/GPU/Limit!

Still waiting for the magical settings that make Kugane not run like ass.
Listen guys I've got the PlayStation 4 pro, and the patch absolutely works no doubt as the performance in 4k is around 30fps, and the standard PS4 mode hits 60fps most of the time, and it's never dropped anywhere below 50 to 55 fps even in the most crowded of areas or even dungeons as the games performance is significantly improved as I couldn't play this game on regular PS4 as the frame rate was just to low for me to enjoy as 30fps feels terrible to me, and so yea this new 60fps patch has got me playing the free trial I'm a level 21 now I'm having a great time, and the new 60fps PlayStation 4 pro patch is directly responsible for that.

This thread title reminds me a lot about threads like "will you quit the game if we get a new patch and can't play during maintenance?". A thread that already in its title opens only for grumbling and yelling and not actually trying to fix anything. It reeks of attitude and makes it difficult to keep a serious tone.

Honestly just having a better resolution hooking it up to my 4K tv has more than please me. It's open the screen up quite a bit

Sorry for the slight change in topic, but my OG PS4 is on the way out (bad antenna, sounds like an aeroplane) and I'm trying to decide between the cheap option - a replacement PS4 Slim - or a PS4 Pro. I have a 4k TV. My current PS4 has a HDD but I'll be installing an SSD into whichever model I buy because I'm sick of taking 5x longer to load between zones than everyone else I know.
However, the Pro is more than twice the price of the Slim for me from the two packages I'm considering, so it's a considerable increase in cost (I don't need advice on packages, due to circumstances I have to buy very specifically). Joke answers about getting a PC will be ignored; I'm not going to :P
Now that you have all settled in with the Pro patch, would you say it's worth the extra cost over the Slim? My server is tiny - never more than 15 people in Kugane - and I never have noticeable congestion anywhere ever other than in 72-man FL, but 4k screenshots (we get those, right?) and the slightly faster load times are tempting me strongly. On the flip side, even the Slim with an SSD would be a nice upgrade for me, so if the Pro patch isn't completely amazing maybe I should save now and wait for a future model?
Are you happy with FFXIV on the Pro?
