Steam did not install Stormblood

I hopped into FFXIV and tried to start the MSQ. I found it odd that the icon was red and not it's typical gold so I clicked to see why, thinking I missed a quest or something.

The dialogue box said that Stormblood was unavailable, and underneath said "Stormblood installed and registered." That struck me as odd considering that I preordered SB months ago and it should of updated and installed like anyone else, but I check my steam and while the "Standard Edition" and "Pre-purchase Bonus Content" DLCs were marked as installed the one line that just says "Stormblood" is greyed out and marked as not installed.

Maybe I should be asking steam about this but this was my first thought after digging through menus over and over again.

Check your service account on Mog Station, if you did not apply your early access code to your account yet, that would be your issue. If you can log into the game you got the update, everyone got it whether or not they purchased SB, the access is determined by your account.

Pretty much ignore what Steam says. Apart from the initial download (which is only version 2.1!) the game does not download via Steam, nor do any updates.

All updates since 2.1 come from Square Enix themselves (so whatever you do, don't verify files with Steam, it'll roll you back to 2.1 just for you to have to redownload everything again).

You have to take the codes Steam gives you, and put them in to the Mogstation, specifically the Early Access code. This is the only code you can register right now which will give you what you're looking for. From Tuesday 20th you'll be able to end the full code.
