    AST UI Royal Road

Okay, so know that the little dot on the big UI is the Royal Road effect, I'm not liking it. The Draw and Spread sections are huge and really let you know what you have but that Royal Road effect, pay attention to the numbers cause that symbol is doing nothing for you. Also don't like that it say 200% for Extended effect and 150% for Enhanced effect since it makes it seem like Extended is better than Enhanced when the effects are vastly different. Yes I know one has a clock and the other is two dots, but the whole point of these UI things was to make it easier for new players.

In general, extended IS better than enhanced. The only time it's not, for example with balance, is when you don't get to attack something for that full duration.

Honestly I hate the UI in general. It seems so forced. It's so clunky and huge, and to add insult to injury we no longer get the dropdown text because cards are no longer buffs. That text was a godsend when on the move. I hate having to check the gauge/my hotbar just to see what I drew.

It gives exactly the same information as the hotbar icons do, except that the new UI shows the effect of royal road (badly, and which the hotbar icon SHOULD do in the same way that draw and spread do), and it DOESN'T show the cooldowns on the abilities which means you need the hotbar icons anyway.

So basically, it doubles up on everything it does except for the one thing that it does badly, and doesn't do one of the most important things that it needs to do regarding cards anyway. Talk about redundant.

That's incredibly bad for another reason that I'm not sure we should discuss on the official forums, but which has to do with tracking spell cooldowns in a "special" way...

My biggest peeve with this is that other people can't see what cards I've got and on the flipside, if I'm healing alongside another AST, I can't see their cards preventing me from adjusting accordingly.

The UI itself is pretty neat, but the loss of the buff icons is a backwards step even if you discount the cooldown tracking side of things.

Wow I hadn't even considered that. I love the new little UI otherwise though.

. That's literally the only issue with AST in SB.

Everything else including the UI is perfection

Another thing I don't like about the new UI is that you can't cancel Royal Road effects.

Say you Royal Roaded an Ewer and now the next card is going to be AoE but less effective. Before Stormblood, if you wanted to remove the AoE effect and get the full strength of the card, you could just right click the buff on your buff list and cancel it. Now it doesn't seem to be possible anymore.

I realise it doesn't happen very often that you might want to cancel a Royal Road effect like that, but I'm still bummed out.
