At least Kotaku acknowledged a little bit about the problem. Maybe that'll get SE's look at its own forum. I'm so mad right now.

Another "problem" get a answer and this one get nothing... Ok... I'm getting my frustation back...
Really seems like they are avoiding the situation maybe because they know they never really found a solution for this problem. Or maybe using this opportunity to have more room in the servers since we can't get in. That's just me thinking out loud without a single optimism left. ):
This is retarded. I had to redownload everything on Thursday because of a glitch in the launcher and I now have to redownload the patches yet again.... third time now for no reason. This is getting ridiculous, none of us should be having to redownload anything that wasn't corrupted in any form. Giant waste of time this launch was. Note I have to sit through 22gb of patches again and probably acknowledge again I bought the expansion and all that. With all the trouble this launch has caused to everyone I think there should be some compensation for our time lost.
So I reported the issue with the launcher bug in FFXIV support center and I finally got a reply from them after 2 days. This is my second time doing this. I shit you not, They literally copy and pasted their response to my first one. What in the world....
"We apologize for any inconvenience. Many users have reported being unable to log into the game. We ask you to try again at a later time as there has been much server congestion recently with the release. We thank you for your patience and continued support"
This type of error the support never know that to say. They have a script with answers... I know because I had worked on support... Only the staff can tell us someting. =/So I reported the issue with the launcher bug in FFXIV support center and I finally got a reply from them after 2 days. This is my second time doing this. It was very difficult to make them see there is a big problem. But... according to Kahuna (SE staff) on Reddit, they are now looking into it.
It would be appreciated if they were more active on their own forum than on Reddit or whatever.
Eh, i'm not sure if hes talking about doing the same thing as I am however. I'm talking about deleting everything and just have a fresh instal+stormblood hard disc load up. Not sure if it will make a difference, and probably will still have to download the large patch (hopefully not). But maybe if the launcher is reinstalled will work until the next time it happens and hopefully SE has a fix by then.
*sigh* I got hit with this problem last night after registering SB (PSN version). I've had no issues with EA Fri-Sun except for queues getting in to the server and then out of nowhere - 22GB. I didn't have a power outage and I'm sure that I logged out of the game properly before putting on a DVD for my daughter and turning it off at the plug like I do maybe 50% of the time. When I loaded the PS4 up last night I got the same screen warning me against improper shutdowns and then onto FFXIV. Then I got the 22.7GB DL everyone else appears to be getting. After trying and failing to improve my download speed (capped at 0.3MB/s) I went to reDL the patch but now the size is 19.8GB. I've a sinking feeling that once it gets completed in ~14 hours it'll say the patch couldn't be completed and I'll have to do this all over again.
Still waiting for an official statement on this game breaking error from SE is crazy.
Yeah its so strange that just an impromper shut down would screw with the game launcher when its not even active, but there you go. Even if you are able to dl the patch and get back in still kinda pointless if you have to do it every time a cord comes out or the power flickers.*sigh* I got hit with this problem last night after registering SB (PSN version).
