Try changing to verizon dnsThis just happened to me last night. So I brought my ps4 to my office where I have faster internet speeds and it is failing to download after extended periods of time, saying it can no longer find patch data. Whats worse is my ps4 can utilize approx. 100 Mb/sec here at my office and yet the game cannot patch faster than 3.2 Mb/sec. WTH?
Too bad this is my first post on these forums, but I want to add my name to the list.
PS4, downloading the game right now for the second time after a quick power outage. The power literally flickered off and on in an instant.
The game is obviously still on my hard drive, and yet I have to re-download some 22k mb...
I am a brand new player, 4 days left on my free month. I want to see this fixed before I subscribe.
Ok..call me a fool...but I ALWAYS leave my PS4 on and in rest mode. If there's a storm, I just flip the switch on the surge protector until I need the PS4 again.
Did it today, got back on and realized I had to redownload 19.5gb worth of data from this...seriously..what the fudge dudes and dudettes?!?
So..you're going to apologize for this, right Square? Riiiight?
Don't do that! PS4 isn't a dumb console like a PS2, its more like a PC that needs to be shut down properly. If you need to download games or charge your controllers, put it in rest mode, other wise you should power it down using "Turn Off PS4"
Yeah, I know I shouldn't. But it's pretty rare that I have to do that.
I've lost a desktop PC 2 TV's and an XBOX due to power surges.
My PS4 is ALWAYS in rest mode. I charge 2 controllers, and two headsets, and generally like to use rest mode to make sure my content stays up to date.
I'd say maybe 3-5 times a year I shut it down this way. Did it on the PS3 as well. I've never had an issue until today...lol
Sony should implement a way to power down the console WHILE in rest mode. Usually when I flip the surge power button, it's because I woke up to a storm and don't want to turn on the console, wait on it to boot, turn the TV on, and then deal with all of that. It's pure laziness at its finest.
Wait...your PS4 can support up to 100mb/sec?This just happened to me last night. How?!? I have Xfinity with 100mbps, and I've never gotten over 30. Called Sony and was actually told by the tier 2 support that PS4 consoles don't support faster download speeds than approx. 30mb/s
I was told by Sony that by changing your MTU settings you'll get faster speeds with smaller packets, which I already knew, but they did confirm that it won't go much faster than 30mb/s.
No offensive but to you people who are redownloading it for the 5th+ time... buy a UPS already. it happened to me once and I got one and I haven't had the issue since. They're not expensive and it's probably for the benefit of your PS4 and other electronics anyway if you're suffering that many outages to begin with.
HOW IN THE WORLD HAS THIS NOT BEEN FIXED YET!?!? It just happened to me again !!
This times 100. If you suffer that many outages, then your PS4 will be fried before the next expansion comes out. Also PSA for everyone new to this thread, Sony is working on the problem and will update SE when they have a fix.No offensive but to you people who are redownloading it for the 5th+ time... buy a UPS already. it happened to me once and I got one and I haven't had the issue since.
