22.7gb update after relogging?

Whelp count me in on the "power flickered, I'm boned" roster, the power flicked yesterday and kicked me out of palace but I managed to get back in just fine afterward... this morning it's wanting the 22 gigs. I tried restoring licenses, doing the PS4 rebuild etc, but nothing works. So much for the vacation I took so I could play this! I don't understand why NOW it's mad, when it was just fine after the actual power loss event.

In the interest of ~science~ I tried deleting the whole thing (after uploading/backing up my character and system file) and putting in realm reborn, then heavensward, then stormblood. ARR/HW both had something to install, SB didn't. Still having the same issue. You can't tell me that there's 22.7 gig of patches in entirety? They can't say the game files are corrupt, since they're fresh-installed. The loader even redownloaded.

Well, count me in for another one of the "power outage, download 22GB" recipient of this problem...
I just renewed my sub for 2 months and only been playing for a few days. And I certainly don't want this issue to be plaguing me to make my paid sub seems not that worth it anymore...

Just happened to me now. Power outage and now a 22GB download. When are they going to fix this?

This is still going on?! What the heck, man?! I had to buy a battery backup and now whenever I log out, I just put my PS4 on Rest Mode without turning off the Stormblood expansion. It is working so far, but I would like to be able to properly turn off my PS4 once in a while, SE, dev. team and Sony.

The first time this happened to me there was no power outage and the system and game were turned off as optimally as possible and it still happened. So yeah, at least give us a communicate of how things are going with this.

Well... this isn't comforting at all ><. This just finally happened to me today, and the way people are saying in here.. it can happen w/ or w/o power surges AND on PC...

This just happened to me right now, I'm already in the middle of downloading this big patch just so I can get back on. No idea how long it will take either. Thankfully I do have pretty reliable and fast internet... but anything could happen even another power surge (they tend to happen around it sometimes with bad weather.)

So the majority of the people in this thread is anything to go by... I'm now scared this could happen to me over and over and over again. Please SE, I hope there is a fix for this soon. And a permanent fix as well! This is something that shouldn't be happening. Lag, DDoS attacks, server congestion is one thing, and is to be expected because internet and people. But this? Is obviously some technical issue that I hope you all are readily working around the clock to get fixed ><

I really hope this is the one and only time this happens to me, but the future just seems bleak if 68 pages of this thread is anything to go by.

A google search brought me here. I take solace in knowing I'm not alone in having to reinstall 22.7 GB, but I'm shocked how widespread this issue is. Have the devs made any comments about this? My power goes out somewhat frequently during the summer thunderstorms, is this gonna happen every single time if my power goes out while playing?

Yes, somewhere on this topic. It says they're working on it along with sony. But that was a week ago, no news about it.

Second time it's happened to me now, as well. If SE is reading this and you're still looking into data corruption with no results, might I suggest looking for bugs in the Launcher. I don't see a reason for a power outage of a server-side MMO to cause client-side data file corruption.
