Well honestly the next time it happens I will try this. Thanks for sharing, much appreciated. I already have to deal with the "unable to obtain character data" issue as a problem #1 to get in the game these days (unless I wake up at 2am for a video game) so being able to avoid problem #2 (this 22.7gb thing) is really important for me. One problem at a time is better.I already post here for redownloading 22.7 gb.
I just crash after trying to teleport at Reach after the Foxy Lady Fate. (I know, bad idea xd)
Before starting FF14 i restarted the console, then close it. I started the PS4 in safe mode.(you wait that the console completly shutdown, then hold the power button until it bip two time) then i rebuild the data base.
When i started FF14, it bring me to the registration screen and i didnt have to download it again.
Not sure if it did anything but i will post it anyway. Good luck
If the files are corrupted thanks to a power outtage, how is that SE fault? It's the way Sony designed the damn console
Don't be mistaken, this is the ONLY game that has this problem right now and we did NOT have this problem before the launcher update before they launched SB a week ago. I've had brownouts before over the months and years and the FFXIV launcher NEVER asked me to redownload multiple GB patches after an improper PS4 shutdown. And like I mentioned, no other game other than FFXIV SB, online or single player offline, has EVER asked me to redownload multiple GBs of a patch update due to corrupted files.
This is purely a SE problem. Some software engineer fell asleep at the job and ****ed up when he let this new PS4 launcher update go to production when SB launched. There's no other explanation for it.

I had a power cut while playing Tekken 7 yesterday. Tekken files were not corrupted but FF14 launcher asked me to reinstall when I tried to log in after.

Exactly, you don't even have to be playing FFXIV and you'll have to reinstall. Besides that, the files are intact. Everything is there and not corrupted. The launcher is the thing that gets screwy and makes us redownload. Besides that, Sony hasn't had any updates for PS4 as of late. Stormblood and the FFXIV launcher both did. I've had tons of power outages or I'd forget my system was in rest mode and I'd unplug it. Not once did I corrupt any files nor did I have to ever reinstall FFXIV. If anything, I'd turn my system back on and hop right back into the dungeon I was in and finish it. The problem definitely started with Stormblood.
ok..any1 wanna test if the maintenance fixed it XD?
