22.7gb update after relogging?

I just put it in to see if it would help. I'm way too afraid of deleting the whole app in result that it might give me an even bigger file that includes ARR. I'm always in paranoia every time I play the freaking game now. Anyone else enjoying this download simulator expansion of FFXIV?

Well I think that the 22.7 gigs is all of the patches from 2.0 till now isn't it? If I had better connection I wouldn't be as afraid tommorow (but I might try it anyway, what could it hurt), but I have the physical copy of stormblood tommorow and I know I have the physical of HW, but i'm pretty sure since storm comes with sb+hw it shoudl have all of the patches up until then as well. So i might try it for science tommorow

fire the dev team at this point. there is no way that something like this should even be happeneing. 90k, duty instances are one thing but having to redl 2.0-4.0 patches when your ps4 cuts out/gets turned off? tf shit is that. Yoshi been saying sorry since EA hit

Yeah in reality of things, sorry isn't necessarily good enough. And I want to say it's okay I really do, but again in reality, he shouldn't waste his time saying sorry, instead use that time to find a solution. It's his game and a lot of us are counting on him. I'm still a big fan of his, but I'm not gonna pretend that this isn't frustrating.

Just happened to me today... Won't be able to play today and maybe not tomorrow with my download speed... Hopefully this will get fixed soon so it doesn't happen again.

So is this problem happening to people again after completing the download, signing in with no hiccups, then logging out normally after playing a while? Or is it just isolated to power outages?

I am having the same problem. This will be the 3rd time I have had to redownload this. This last time I shut my ps4 off went out to dinner came back and bam 22gb download. like seriously how are we supposed to enjoy the game if we keep having to dowload this

I will let everyone know what happens when I do a fresh install tommorow, and it is if the PS resets itself in any fashion besides normal shut downs even if you aren't playing stormblood. Which shows it shouldn't be a problem with the files itself, just a problem with the app I think.

Conclusion

It is definitely the launcher/downloader. Whenever PS4 goes into 'Recovery/system check up' mode, the launcher derped out and re-download everything as if it is a first time set up, even if there is no data corruption. This didn't happened with previous launchers!

I no longer have this problem anymore because I just switched to PC, but I cannot rest until this problem is fully resolved. While this bug maybe insignificant for people with very high download bandwidth and data cap or living in a place where power outages are rare occurrences, but it is a MAJOR GAME BREAKING BUG for people with slower internet and tighter data cap.

Eh, i'm not sure if hes talking about doing the same thing as I am however. I'm talking about deleting everything and just have a fresh instal+stormblood hard disc load up. Not sure if it will make a difference, and probably will still have to download the large patch (hopefully not). But maybe if the launcher is reinstalled will work until the next time it happens and hopefully SE has a fix by then.

I'm kind of curious, myself. As I sent my console to my brother's house, so there's no way around logging out, shutting it all down, and moving it back to my house. He deleted and re downloaded the entire game for me, and it works fine there. So will that clear up the issue for me until there's another power outage, or will it still come back because he had to shutdown completely to bring it back to my house? Can anyone whose done a fresh install confirm that it works properly after that, unless unexpectedly shutdown once more?
