Just happened to my girlfriend's now as well. And I can confirm that the physical disc of stormblood doesn't even help the launcher get its shit together. Square Enix truly fucked up on this one. I wouldn't even be surprised if they reply right now saying "sorry we don't know". Sorry for the pessimism everyone, but today's official release and I am feeling extra bitter about this unanswered problem.

Did you just put the storm blood disc in and see if it would help? or did you delete the app and then pop it in for a fresh install?

fire the dev team at this point. there is no way that something like this should even be happeneing. 90k, duty instances are one thing but having to redl 2.0-4.0 patches when your ps4 cuts out/gets turned off? tf shit is that. Yoshi been saying sorry since EA hit

I agree with this. They fucked yo their early access, now they are going to fuck up their official release, all because they chose to prioritize the smaller issues rather than this one. Set your priorities straight SE. Drop the champagne bottles, it ain't time to celebrate yet.

I am having the same problem. This will be the 3rd time I have had to redownload this. This last time I shut my ps4 off went out to dinner came back and bam 22gb download. like seriously how are we supposed to enjoy the game if we keep having to dowload this

Yeah same here. Been playing since early access. Power went out at my house now I gotta redownload. During early access my power went out once and this did not happen. It's kind of curious why it's happening now.

I just put it in to see if it would help. I'm way too afraid of deleting the whole app in result that it might give me an even bigger file that includes ARR. I'm always in paranoia every time I play the freaking game now. Anyone else enjoying this download simulator expansion of FFXIV?
