22.7gb update after relogging?

I left it to download overnight only to wake up to "Unable to download patch files". This is getting really irritating. Strangely enough, when I logged back in expecting 22gb hell again, the download was only 3288.76mb. Not sure if this is significant, but I hope it helps.

Edit: The download stopped halfway with the "Unable to download patch files" error. This is getting out of hand.

No, it isn't significant. The 22Go aren't a single file.
If you get an error, it will resume at the beginning of the current file. It always worked that way.

But if you have a power issue or a game freeze (during game, during downloading or even while playing another game) => back to 22Go.

The only solution I can think of (but I can't try atm), would be to back up the whole ps4 content on a hard drive as soon as you have downloaded the 22Go and restore it if power down or game freeze. But I don't even know if that would work.
Best solution in current situation would be 2 hard drives: 1 for most of your games you don't play at the moment (possible since Playstation Update 4.50) and one for security back up. The idea of the 2HD is to make the security back up as light as possible. But, again, I don't even know if doing that would avoid the 22Go.
Anyway, that cannot be a perma solution... SE silence is heavy.

Cool, that just happened to me. It's gonna take a while with my internet, too. Right now the download is at 8348 minutes lol. It's upsetting but I guess there's nothing else we can do right now.

That's about as long as mine tells me the download will take XD Not that it seems to matter, as it always quits with that error, unable to download patch files or whatever. My brother took my console to update it for me on his internet, but I don't have it back yet. He doesn't seem to realize how urgent this matter is for me D: Even after I get it back though I'm going to be too paranoid to try playing. If I see that error again my heart can't take it.

I can't believe the only response we've gotten thus far is that they're 'looking into it' :/ And no REAL response anywhere... just a reddit post still, right?

I have to preform the download as well. I haven't reached the point you're at yet nor encountered the problem, but I'm still only halfway done so there's still time. I did have the problem you're having now though during a heavensward patch and what I did to fix it was go into network settings and set up my connection manually. There are some new screens it takes you to afterwards, and you want to leave them all the same except for the third one if I'm not mistaken. You'll know you're on the right one when it gives you the option to change a number in the 160s. Turn that down to somewhere between 158 and 152 and then try downloading the rest of the patch. It will help if the problem is because of too much packet loss. Hope that helps
