That is something that might be part Sony because I don't get such caps my pc version but Sony downloads in general are unreasonably slow.Just happened to me for the 8th time since early access. I'm on a 1gbit line yet your launcher caps at 5mb/s..
You might need to bite the bullet and recode the launcher and optimize it to today's standards, especially since it's in C#.
We've waited and waited on anything remotely helpful and yet nothing has been done.
Might be time to start asking for some form of compensation on this..

My first post here too; I've had to re-download the patch files three times now since Stormblood was released. The most recent time was last night when I had a power outage due to some work being done in my area. However the thing that's different is that now it keeps coming up with an 'Unable to download patch files' error after around two hours of downloading, completely ending the download and making me restart it from the very beginning.
I've tried restarting my PS4, the application and checked that my storage isn't full. If there's an easy fix for the error I'd appreciate the help.
Don't take my word for it I've never had to do it personally only read it here in this forum if u get an error mssg do not press ok it will restart the download but instead exit to the dash and close the game from outside re-open it and hopefully it picks up were it left off, hope this helps uMy first post here too; I've had to re-download the patch files three times now since Stormblood was released. GL getting a refund, it's not going to happen. And if you'd do a TINY bit of research you'd find SE has posted about it. Nothing more we can do but wait and make sure you don't shut down your PS4 incorrectly if you can help it.4th time for me ...... and I'm not going to dl it this time enough is enough not once has an office se posted here I emailed them and I got they can not provide information on my account uh ....... They can post all they want truth be told ......they have a very defective product I live where isp charge per data usage and this is pure insane 22.8 gig dl now it is clearly how they patch the game it's like a hot fix bbu will be hearing from me as I am clearly not happy with the product or their service ......sad cause what I have played it seems like a decent game......
So this just happened to me for the first time ever. I freaked out and googled this, leading me here.
I don't know the status on whether this is being fixed, but i decided to note it here for any devs listening![]()
I think I dodged a major bullet when I didn't properly get into this game. Very apparent how much it cares about paying users.
What a pathetic company.
Well, after about 48 hours, my game finally finished the d/l. You know what Square Enix? I'm quite beyond caring at this point. I still have my PS3 and have been enjoying playing through Tales of Xillia 2 without having to worry about the power flickering for a split second! So...I'm letting my subscription drop. In the last 30 days I've had 8 days of not being able to play a product that I invested money in. I've filed several customer service tickets out only to get snippy responses that the monthly subscript fee is non-refundable along with sections of the end user agreement. Had you at least offered to compensate me with a few free days of play, perhaps the end result would have been different. So, until I see some indication that YOU Square Enix have taken action in favor of your formerly loyal customers...I'm going to jump off this crazy not-merry-go-round.
