240 Gear from Heavan's Ward Main Scenario Quests

With both my husband and I trying to catch up on our Heaven's Ward Main Scenario Quests and gear up for Stormblood, we noticed that his MSQ completions are rewarding him with Item Level 240 gear and weapons. For example, this morning he's completed from the Warriors of Darkness line up through the Antitower Main Scenario Quest and got an Item level 240 sword on his DRK (Augmented Hellfire Guillotine) and the MSQ or two before that, he received a coffer full of 240 accessories. These are all listed as MSQ quest completion rewards in his log.

On the other hand, on my WHM has completed Sohr Khai through the Last Steps of Faith trail Main Scenario Quests and I have only received a bit of Experience and Gil as a reward while I struggle to raise my gear level above 205.

Can anyone please shed some light on what's going on here? Is there a reason why he's being rewarded with 240 gear for doing quests a few MSQs behind me while I receive nothing as I move forward?

SE adds gear to the patch quests when an expansion is released so new players won't have to gear up to continue.
If you completed those quests before Stormblood released you won't get the new rewards. You will get any that have been added to the quests you haven't accepted yet.

I guess they put the gear at the start of the MSQ which would make sense. Go to the Armor/Weapon/Jewelry gear vendors in the stalls of the Jeweled Crozier in Ishgard - you can buy full sets of ilvl 255 white gear.

Yeah plus the items available for lore tomestones etc are now able to be bought with poetics which had been useless to me till this morning XD
