Thanks for the detailed descriptions. I re-actived my account a week ago to play with a friend (hasn't been active since 2013). This all came as a bit of a shock to me right after I had just re-learned my class.

Of course people can take jokes. It's just that your joke was bad, insensitive, and not remotely funny. You can blame 'SJWs' all you want, but your conduct simply isn't appropriate for public forums. Period. It never has been, it never will be, and finally, in this ever-improving society we live in, you get promptly called out for your sh*t, and can't just slink away into a corner like a creeper.

That's flat out NOT something you joke about. Call me an SJW or all manner of other names all you want, if that's what you think of me I will gladly and proudly wear the mantle. I also reported it. Because it is insensitive and has zero place on a public forum such as this.
