Had this problem too at first but quickly fixed it (with my g910)

    1.open Logitech gaming software
2.press the gear button (settings) thats on the bottom right hand side of software
3.under options go to game integration
    4. un-click the "allow games to control illumination"

    Thanks.

But when I reboot, the LogitechSoftware forgets the settings, so I have to set the option everytime.
Has anyone found a longer lasting solution?

Yup. Can confirm this works. I use a G13 gameboard and G502 Proteus Spectrum. Both were going dark whenever the game was on screen.
