After playing SCH in some dungeons, I can say the job has become terrible boring.

Turns out when you take like half the dots away from a dot class, it sucks to play.
Who knew?
It's not only the dots. It's also the missing aoe options and the missing weaving of off globals.
This combined with extremely simple heal mechanics just feels mind-numbing.

When I would speak that Lily's potency was too high, that was the only nerf I felt SCH needed. They simply had WAY too much Cleric uptime, and it was ridiculous. I never had a problem with their DPS kit, and always loved interweaving it with their shields and occasional heals. It made the job really fun. Now?Also I made no mention about SCH's single target DPS - only their AoE DPS. Chain Stratagem compliments their single target nicely but did SCH really have to get hit in the AoE department as bad as it did? I don't think so. Even having Bane be -10% per monster after the first like Holy and Flare would've been expected, but this is a bit much when combined with the Blizzard II loss.
Blizzard 2: gone. Miasma II: gone. Aero: gone. Bane: only two DoTs to spread now and nerfed to oblivion (80% max reduction, are you effin kidding me SE?!). Shadow Flare: I now have to rely on an aware tank who WILL have to move to avoid AoE for maximum potency. At what point does "nerfed" become just a straight-up jacking? It is what I feared, because I know SE and how much trouble they have with expansions. The same thing happened to RDM in FFXI when ToAU came out: One of the most sophisticated jobs, reduced to a boring shadow of its former glory.
I'm not saying Chain Strategem isn't a fine addition. I am quite sure it is a very nice raid utility to have. But does it make up for what was taken? Right now, I don't even know if I can find enough enjoyment from this job to level it so I can find out.
Well I mained SCH, and I'm so completely depressed with the changes I don't even want to log in again.

After several hours, god sch is so borring at solo content.
I just have the feeling to be a lv30 sch at lv61, it's slow, borring and spam spam spam.
I wanted to lv up 70 but i don't know if i'll have the courage to do it.
I only played Scholar up to 34 to get eye for an eye just like everyone else did, but I know the fun about Bane for me was that you'd hit it and then BAM all these dots would be on everyone. It just doesn't seem like it'd be anywhere near as fun as it was with only two dots.
It's amazing how they took a very interesting and unique healer then proceed to nerf and prune it to the point of being both extremely boring and also weak in almost all areas it was good at.

SCH is really boring now. It's like I'm playing WHM with less things to click. YoshiP really has no idea what he's doing. Might be time to hire a new director.
I have mained and loved scholar since the launch of 2.0 coming from a whm main in 1.0. I can honestly say that I am done as a scholar now. They took a class that I loved playing and still do love as it was and completely destroyed it. The changes 4.0 brought have completely changed the playstyle to something that I do not enjoy.
It's sad, but at the very least ast is still very fun. It's interesting how when ast was introduced it was clear from the start that ast had the potential to make both of the other healers obsolete, but they were smart and brought the class in very underpowered and nudged it bit by bit to a point where it was balanced with the other healers. Now they buffed it by miles and nerfed the other healers into oblivion to a point where there is no reason to bring anything other than ast. So much for the cautious approach.
