Getting ilvl 230

Am I going to have to spend a week grinding dungeons to get ilvl 230 so I can complete HW MSQ so that I can get to SB content?

There will most likely be vendors that will sell nq 230ish gear in the new areas.

If your 230 then yeah. The highest level instance you need to do requires 230 as a minimum. That said, MSQ quests will probably offer gear once the patch drops.

lol nm, yeah. If you haven't finished he can't get to the new stuff. The i230 stuff will be able to be purchased using poetics instead of lore.

But you can't get to the new areas until you beat HW MSQ, right?

The patch notes:
Level 60 weapons, armor, and accessories have been added to vendors in Ishgard.

Possibly be the 230+ to allow ppl to finish msq.

Along with, as someone mentioned above, the HW msq should be giving gear now, just like they added the 110 stuff to 2.x msq when HW launched.

Most likely, yes. Though, as others have said, there might be easier avenues introduced for acquiring those items (depending on your progress through the MSQ).

That said, I don't think it'll take a week. You can get an i230 weapon within an evening doing PotD, and you can run Xelphatol and Gubal (Hard) to get i225 gear, which is close. Pair gear from those dungeons with the Lore / Scripture gear you'll be able to buy with the Tomestones acquired from those runs, and you'll be golden. Cutting it close, but i230 is i230. There's also PvP and Hunts, both of which can be effective.

Correct, unfortunately. Depending on where you are at in the msq, it goes by pretty quickly.

I'm at the dungeon that requires 230, I just wasn't able to get 230 before Stormblood. I was just thinking I don't want to have to spend the entire Early Access trying to get 230 gear for 1 stupid dungeon.
