And that's exactly what you're referring to as customization. Putting stats in the wrong place. It's a sad state of affairs-sure. But it was an illusion of choice at best and a noob-trap at worst.

We did have The Keeper's Hymn to remedy such mistakes though. In the end it boiled down to 2 or 3 choices (if you actually cared to invest in Piety as a caster or healer) of what to do with the points. People just tended to add the extra into their main stat which, along with the SMN/SCH issue, is no doubt why they've been removed. That and the on-going effort to remove 1.0 features lol
