It's about a loss of free customization, no matter how small, and not about judging how I or anyone else used the points.

It wasn't customization though, there was a right way and a wrong way to spend them. That's not customizing, that's a noob-trap (Excuse the term).

If you want to customize simply meld materia with that stat attached this way your base attributes are whatever they are you can still benefit/gimp yourself as you like.

I'm glad they took that away. Now people are incapacitated from attempting stupid builds, and the rest won't have to allocate one main stat every level.
