I have used some Determination on melds because i could only use 12 crit or direct hit (forget which one) and i would rather of had that +40 from the VI materia so slotted determination.
Also while i do like to have high crit i prioritize DH>Crit> Det

Is everyone skipping the Omega normal chest? 14 INT doesn't seem worth it to trade 240+ DH for SS (forget the exact numbers).

Personally I just shelled out the gil for a HQ 320 crafted piece, worth not having spell speed

Trying to figure out some issues I'm having. I've cleared o1s and o2s on rdm, but my dps is really low. I'm doing the opener exactly the same, I seem to get the perfect procs more than not. However, outside of a few mistakes here and there (starting to cast impact when it doesn't have enough time left, fat fingering verthunder instead of verfire, etc) I'm pulling around 3,400 dps. I did the o3s dummy, and the SSS calculator says I need 4214, and each time I've tried it I am coming in at 4180-ish. My crit is incredibly low compared to everything else. I don't really want to put tier VI crit materia in when my gear is going to get better shortly, but I'm kind of at a loss at what I can do to increase my dps at this point....any hints or ideas?

I would say try different rotation or just meld higher crit (i know you did not want to)
Honestly the VI materia is not overly hard to get, and you may get lucky enough one day running one of the level 70 dungeons and it will drop in your inventory

Your low crit is a big portion i think and also DH, which just for reference sakes mine is around 1900.
Some players favour Crit, others DH, personally i like DH but like to keep both DH and Crit fairly high
