Give it the Ruin IV treatment and save some buttons.
I agree they could've just consolidated it into one button and for the intent I think its only purpose is to balance out dry spells of Stone/Fire procs. Or if you like using it as often as possible, using it when you have one proc ready and not the other then DC'ing whichever alignment proc you don't have.

Thought the point of this expansion was to avoid button bloat. I can kind of see it because it doesn't generate mana, but mechanically they are used in the same manner.
The reason it doesn't do this is because you don't want to try casting Impact when the buff has less than 2s remaining as it will fall off and cancel your cast thus causing you to lose that GCD.

This doesn't happen TOO frequently, but if you end up with a good string of ready procs you end up not having a chance to cast Impact before the buff wears off at all. Which is kind of a shame since it's one of the best looking abilities we have.

Something I've not seen mentioned, and I only noticed myself today - Acceleration works on Verholy and Verflare.

I would never ever use macros for abilities, even be it Jolt.
On that note anyone know how i would go about making a macro for Veraise?
I have needed to raise so many people it has but unreal, and do not want to annoy healers trying to raise when i can instantly do it, lol

What do you want the macro to do?
    could be as simple as:
    /p Raising <t> <se.1>
    /ac "Verraise" <t>

That'll make a beep and show who you're raising. Push it after you've pushed swiftcast or have a dualcast ready.
But healers are likely going to try and swiftcast a raise too, it's more their job than yours, so maybe give 'em a second.

Good advice. I main an Ast but love playing as a Rdm too. Most times in content like the 8 and 24 raids where things can go bad I would suggest holding off on Verraise unless a couple of things have happened:
    1) Has the healer used a Raise/Ascend in the last 30 seconds?
    2) Is the healer dead?
    3) Is the healer close to OoM?
    4) Are a lot of people derping into mechanics and dying? (as in more than 2 dead)

If the answer is yes to any of these then please Verraise. ^_^ And a tidy little macro using swiftcast and verraise with something letting the healer(s) know which person is a huge help. Whenever things suddenly go poorly and the summoner in my group starts helping to raise I for one give them my Comm at the end. ^_^

Also questions 2-4 tend to happen quickly one after another.

Is the macro I use. I also use it for stuff like cures, apocastatasis, mana shift etc. Never really use the /p "raising so and so floor tank" because I've never liked spamming the chat log and it's usually healers I'm raising.

    Why don't you just

    /ac Verraise <mo>

so you don't have to reacquire your target?

basically i just want to alert the group i am raising whoever is down, so healers know.
Healers have always seemed occupied every time i go as Red Mage so think it is just easier for me to raise, and i have needed to raise healers as well

This is also the main reason no one should be using an Impact/Jolt II macro. It's bad practice and it will ultimately lower your dps. And just out of curiosity, why would anyone have Impact on their second hotbar. RDM literally has no need for 2 hotbars. You should be able to fit all of your abilities on first hotbar + expanded. Then put abilities like raise, cure, diversion addle etc on double tap or second hotbar since you'll use those less frequently.
