What's wrong with attacking faster? I Goad you and you Goad me. Incoming Mnk + Nin as best combo for raids with 2 AST feeding Arrow cards.MNK is hugely dependent on SkS now, to an absurd degree. Since Riddle of Fire negates GL3's attack speed on a burst window and all the damage of the monk dropped across the board base pot wise. MNKs primary stats are focused down to SkS/Crit since deep chakra is crit based on top of being behind RNG. Just my opinion but DHit and Det are being pushed down for SkS and Crit and it seems poorly designed.
There's nothing wrong with attacking faster. But considering my damage was nerfed to support this asinine Riddle of Fire burst cooldown, I'm attacking slower and SAM is just as fast with more outgoing damage. And it gives you a slashing debuff to work with since you don't have that anymore.
SAM isn't all that it's hyped up to be, it has its downfalls and they don't have your MNK raid utility so i'd rather have a monk. Oh, and ninja still has the slashing debuff, it's just tied into Shadow Fang now. There's nothing wrong with attacking faster. I'm sorry but Brotherhood is hot garbage. 5% bonus to the *other* physical DPS with approximately 1/6 uptime. This translates out to, at best, about 1% overall damage to the other physical damage dealers, which will most likely be just the tanks and maybe 1-2 other people.
Funnily enough, Monks required babysitting in HW to reach their full potential, and now it's looking like they'll need it again since Brotherhood's chakra transfer gets better the more physical DPS you have.
Mantra could be good, but I can see it being legitimately good in like, maybe 2 fights this expansion (like it was in HW.)
FOR DOCKHAND!
NIN lost their debuff, It's PVP set now unless this has changed in the last month. I mean I hope it did but then I also hoped MNK's damage wasn't nerfed and my chakra building wasn't set up behind dual RNG walls and party dependency. And other than a potential lack of raid utility, I don't see the downfalls of SAM. As far as theory is concerned, SAM is everything monk should have been in 3.0 considering it didn't have any raid utility then.

ahh kk, yeah to be honest I was thinking of going with "direct damage boosts" where I can, without really sweating it too much if i end up with things like Skill speed for now anyways. This overall seems more like a push to normalize what they do offer by "weight" while still offering "build" diversity by stat as gear progresses in ilvl. (ie getting enough to break softcaps etc) So seems more to make sure no stat is just a "waste".
