Before Final Fantasy XIV: A (boring) Project.

Hello, since I'm a big fan of the Final Fantasy (FF) series, I decided to start a project called "Before The XIV" where I marathon the previous Final Fantasy games to show how things you meet in FF14 might have looked.

I try as much as I can to get the footages and screenshots during my own playthroughs, but I still give credits where it's due (which is the case for FF11, and the savage contents in FF14, thanks Mikoto XI, Momo Sama and Drak).

Here's what I call the "HD remaster" introduction video for additional infos, or just an appetizer.(2:43)

The first part of the "HD remaster" features explanations, from the original Final Fantasy to the 3rd.(6:28)

The second part of the mechanics explanations, this time covering Final Fantasy 4 up to the FF7 compilation (minus Before Crisis).(7:51)

The 1st videos were made with my old mic and my almost complete lack of knowledge on how to edit videos correctly, please don't be "fooled" and dismiss all the others because of this, at least try the Sigmascape ones.

What's the forum's policy regarding necroposting? Should I just create a new topic?

All in all, even if I haven't been active here, I've been busy with the project and made more videos (although only since 4.2). In the same idea as the Deltascape, I made indepth comparisons between the Sigmascape raids and their original counterparts from FF6 in search of all the references (though some were closer to personal theories).

There have been others too, if you're interested, like the Carbuncle evolution from the FF5 to 14 and other comparisons. However, you'll notice a steep decline in quality from the Deltascape series and before.

Wow! Paint me impressed. You've put so much work into these videos and you've given us many hours of thoughtful commentary on the franchise as a whole. Thank you so much for your hard work, and your English is comes through very well, while still retaining the beauty of your native tongue. This is why I love this franchise so much. So many people from all around the globe sharing their thoughts so passionately.

What's the forum's policy regarding necroposting? Should I just create a new topic?

From what I understand necroposting is fine, and encouraged. In general, the moderators prefer you keep the number of new posts down if the topic has already been posted. The Japanese, on the whole, seem to be much more disciplined in this area than the West (at least the English forums from what I've seen. I can't comment on the other western languages). This makes it easier to find and locate topics.

On the other hand, artificially keeping a thread alive is frowned upon. For example posting:

… just to keep the topic on the front page is disingenuous.

I don't even know what's genuine anymore on the internet. I wanted to release the new intro today, but I wasted time trying to get some things to work, and I'm not really interested in spending a year or 2 in coding just to make a model viewer work. I'll try out another kind of "introduction video", but that'll look "less fancy" in the end.

I get what you mean. It's just that I went on some forums that didn't like at all double/triple posting (even if it was to add something, it was considering bumping because I could have simply edited the previous post) and necroposting.

All in all, thanks if it was genuine, and sorry for being so sluggish in making those.

Yay, it didn't take me a year this time, I uploaded a "new" video explaining how the 1st three Final Fantasy games worked (including the differences in their remakes).

It's almost 6 and half minutes long, the next parts should be uploaded weekly from now on, take care and have fun.
