New player LF mentor on Odin

Hey!

Sorry if this is in the wrong forums but I couldn't post on the Odin forums since I am only level 12.

I really wish I had given this game a chance earlier but anyway, here I am

I started a CNJ and I like it so far. I would like some advice on how to progress from here on out and I'm therefore looking for mentorship that I just found out about in game.

If this mentor thing is not used or if it's considered lame or anything then just ignore my noobishness

First of all, welcome to the game!

The main way progress occurs in this game is by doing the main scenario quests. They are marked by a flame icon. Other important unlock quests are marked by a plus icon. At your level you are close to you first dungeon. Some dungeons are required for the main scenario quests (MSQ) and all of them can be farmed for experience, gear or a special currency called tomestones.

This game has a nice feature of letting you be every class and job on one character. You might get bored with your current class at some point so if that happens you can visit a class guild where you're given an option to unlock more classes. You swap classes by equipping another type of weapon, and this changes your character level to the level of the currently equipped class. That means you have to level each class individually. Don't forget to visit your class and job trainers every 5 levels to obtain more class quests.

If you are interested in contacting mentors in-game, you could /shout in a main city (Limsa Lominsa / Gridania / Ul'dah) and ask if a mentor could invite you to the Novice Network. It's a realm-wide chat channel with up to 100 mentors ready to answer questions. You are able to join and be in the channel for as long as you are showing the sprout icon (or once you have become a mentor yourself). I'm also a mentor so feel free to send me a /tell whenever I happen to be online on Odin. There are also some websites which can help with finding information.
