Moving one alt to Omega most likely. Ps you people from Balmung, keep your stupid RP away from Omega OKEY!?

I'm sorry but where should EU people from Balmung who can't play there anymore due to the high ping go then? RPers want a server with a lively RP scene, and if they went to any other one, they'd be intruding an already existing community. Omega doesn't have any community yet, and there's not much of a reason for EU peeps to go there. (I know I'm moving there to, but that is partially due to the RP opporunities). If you just put an alt there you shouldn't be bothered by it anyway, just as any other people who just go there to level up. You get your thing, then leave, then what kind of community that server gets is none of your business.
And even if you have a good reason to move there (someone stated housing) that doesn't make your wishes for others not to have fun in their way no more valid than their wishes for an EU server with a better RP community than "i know of this one fc, and i think i saw some roleplay in the gold saucer once but can't tell since it was french"

I've got a 1.0 char that I didn't realise existed (she has the tattoo but no legacy status - would've loved to have had that tattoo on my main but alas, I made too much progress on main by the time I found out) until a few months ago. She's stuck on Ridill (JP) as a remnant of Selbina (made her on there as I'm an ex-FFXI player) so I might transfer her to Omega. If I do this, can I transfer anyone else under this initiative or is it a once per account thing? Thanks.

It doesnt sound like its once per account, its once per character. So as long as you are transferring to a designated world the transfer should be free for any character you move while the transfer bonus is in effect.
Just be aware that after the 90 day restriction, if you decide you wanted to move your characters again it would cost $18.99 for each world to transfer them. (ie. Multiple Characters on World A can move to world B on a single transfer. But Multiple characters across Worlds A & C would require multiple transfers to move to world B.)

So far its only EU getting the Omega server. EU has limited servers as is for such a large amount of playerbase, so they are adding a new server there to alleviate some of the stress.
Currently no new NA or JP servers have been announced.

Only for EU because a lot of their worlds are high pop compared to NA.

Only EU for now because all the EU servers are fairly heavily populated, unlike the NA and JP data centres where there are some low-population servers.
It might also be worth noting that the EU datacentre has fewer servers than any of the other datacentres.

You could always leave the FC and house with an alt on Moogle, so you'll still have it if you decide to move back.

Peeps have started the initiative for an EU RP server alternative like a month ago and it was just a matter of which of the new servers. With there only being one, I imagine that's no longer a question.
