Leviathan vs Coeurl

So, I'm moving out of a certain overly big server.

My options have come down to these two (and maybe Cactuar). Basically, go bonkers and advertise your server here if you're in any of these (if not, feel free to put your server out there anyway, I'm open to anything). What's it like and why would someone want to join?

I played on Leviathan for most of 2.0 before I moved to Exodus and later to Balmung.

From what I remember about Levi, there were a lot of gil spammers and sub-par pug groups. Long story short I wouldn't have left if I was happy there, obviously. Exodus was generally better at raiding, but people there really weren't nice at all (lots of hardcore elitists). Balmung certainly lives up to that RP stereotype (especially around the Quicksand in Ul'Dah), but the beautiful part is I haven't gotten a single gil spammer tell since coming here.

tl;dr- I'd shoot for a server that's normally closed to character creation if you seek peace of mind from bots and spammers. Other than that it comes down to what kind of player you are (casual, raider, RPer, etc).

Thanks for the response! In Balmung right now actually, been in it for a few years now, and realized I'm pretty unhappy with it.

I can't remember the last time I was bugged by a gil spammer either by pm or party invite. They only seem to frequent city state atherytes nowadays which is fine by me.
Pugs are as much as a gamble here as they are any server with the cross server pf so I doubt it'll be any different. I've been in Levi since 2.0 and I have no complaints.
There's a little bit of everything here. We've got some rpers, raiders, and plenty of casual players so there's definitely something for everyone but not TOO much of one thing.

The changes they made awhile back really cut down on gil seller tells all over, I think. I'm on Cactuar and like it a lot. Buuuut, I think with all the current and upcoming cross server features, if I were looking to transfer, I'd go to one of the low population ones. Free + 1 bil gil transfer cap.. plus, that makes it a lot easier to get a house. I used the free transfer to go EU>NA after the expansion, and had around 25 mil gil pre-transfer.. it was a pain to transfer it (bought a bunch of items on the MB, then took 2-3 months selling them on the new server).

Leviathan has changed in terms of the raid scene, it is far more active. Gil spammers come and go and there is tons of new players.

I moved from Coeurl to Leviathan a couple of years ago. Not because I didn't like Coeurl but there just wasn't much in the way of population. Maybe that has changed. Leviathan has certainly gotten bigger. I think he's feeding Lalafells to his minions of the deep.
