Well then people like you are the problem not the devs. Why i cant have my war look like a war and not likea drk?
It seems the devs don't actually know what we want. Here is Blade & Soul, a free two play MMO. Their Wardrobe system works by listing every possible "armour" and allowing you to move any outfits you acquired into it. You can pull them out at any time, provided you're subscribed. I fail to see how a triple A game like FFXIV cannot basically copy this system. The server excuse is just annoying at this point. Weren't they relocated to upgrade them? All this comes across as is Square Enix knowing retain subscriptions would decline.
That isn't the argument though. At least it isn't mine. I adore both the Paladin and Dark Knight AF outfits yet I'm unable to wear both if I want to maintain a progressive ilvl. If I choose Paladin, both Warrior and Dark Knight default to whatever the raid gear is. So instead of enjoying all the unique job glamours, I usually end up shelving them fairly quickly. It's not perfect, but it's better than no glamour at all. As for restrictions on gear, restrictions are necessary for AF and Job-specific gear at least, because that is the whole purpose of AF in the first place! It's meant to emulate the traditional appearance of that Job in past FF games (like a WHM's traditional appearance is a white robe or clothing tinged in red triangles, a BLM's traditional appearance is a dark blue or black robe with a yellow witch's hat and stripy pants, DRG's traditional appearance is purple draconic armour etc).
Allowing another Job or class to equip it, even for glamour, completely throws that whole idea out the window. Which is why the glamour system has Job restrictions on it. Given that Yoshi stated this ages ago it shows he's pretty firm on this subject (and rightly so), so I do not see that changing at all.

Yeah the whole having to use glamour prisms and have the gear pieces in your armory chest or inventory is really primitive and unwieldy. I can think of a compromise between a glamour log book and the current crappy system however.
Imagine you had 2 slots for every gear piece, you can equip 2 sets of gear at once, but one set of gear will have no effect on your stats and will instead override the visuals of the gear which is affecting your stats.
Something similar to what Starbound does for its cosmetic options. this would be overall easier and save some inventory space. also no more expensive glamour prisms. crafters have plenty of other things to sell already.
I would rather have ANY form of new content instead of the devs working on glamour books that would only mainly benefit one server..... BALMUNG.

Oh really now? I'm on Jenova. People all over the game deserve to look cool and how they want to look. Just becuase YOU don't care how you look doesn't mean the rest of us don't.
You really think it's just roleplayers who care? I hate to break it to you, but if you polled the number of people who glamour and fix up their houses compared to those who raid or run dungeons, you'd be astonished just how much the former wins out.
Hey I do both, although I don't fix up my house since houses cost retarded amounts of gil at the moment, gil I do not have. Glamour prisms are slightly more affordable.
Also roleplayers aren't only on Balmung. they're on every server, especially because Balmung is always full anyway.
Only 2 of the posters on this thread before yours were from Balmung. Storage and glam issues are pretty universal.
That's what apartments are for. and they doubled the amount of items you can have in SB.Hey I do both, although I don't fix up my house since houses cost retarded amounts of gil at the moment, gil I do not have. Glamour prisms are slightly more affordable.

From western perspective? Maybe. But this is japan, and considering this game is huge about QOL from crafting and gathering (come with its own story), housing, decorating, buck load of emote, photomode (complete with set your own filter and pose), fashion such as maid and swimsuit. From a development standpoint, playing dress up probably ranks pretty low on the priority list when preparing for an expansion launch.
And community who spend majority of time circling in idylshire with their fat chocobo, dancing emote every minutes even in raid, expressing their mood via emote instead of chat?
I say yeah, glamour is serious matter in this game =D
