Since glamour logs has been brought up countless times and they keep saying it is too much work I figured I'd post a suggestion that seems like it is well within the limits of the game and uses already existing functions seen elsewhere in the game. There really shouldn't be any excuse for why this option shouldn't be possible and it doesn't seem like too much work.
Instead of a glamour log that keeps track of everything, they can add new NPCs for each job either within the guilds or other relevant areas, and these NPCs would collect the gear from us and have it be added to a list of re-purchasable gear like Drake in North Shroud or the Calamity Salvager. The shared gear sets would obviously be applied to the other jobs if they are turned in on a different job.
There can be an initial quest for starting it out so people know it is a new feature and to give it context, then just add simple one liner dialogues whenever a new set is turned in.
As for how it would work you could either select the NPC which would bring up a menu that lists each respective "set" of Unique (Green or better) gear. Then the NPC would say something like "would you like to turn-in the Foestriker set?" and then it would open your inventory and make you select all pieces of the gear to turn-in. The gear would then be removed, but added as a CHEAP purchasable option. Or it can work like the Garo npc, if you wear the whole set the NPC will acknowledge it and say something like "Oh that's the Foestriker set" and it will be selectable from the list for now on.
By limiting it to each job it should alleviate the loading of the npc data it has to go through, and additional NPCs can be added to split up the sets where relevant. So for DRG there might be an NPC in the Lancer Guild that has the green gear from Sastasha up until Lv.50. Then another NPC in Coerthas can have DRG gear for 50s. Then another one in HW for the 51-60 dungeon gear. This way there isn't a huge load of gear sets that have to be "stored" on one npc even if it's just one job.
Then you can add other NPCs for specific content, like a new goblin NPC in Idyllsire that collects all the Alexander gear from every job. Or Void Ark gear from someone in the Parrock. Or an NPC in Mor Dhona for the Crystal Tower gear and EX primal weapons (both types).
This does not seem like a lot of effort would be involved other than simply making a few new NPCs, and simple copy/paste menuing from how Drake or the Calamity Salvager functions.
This also does NOT hurt the economy which is another excuse given because none of the crafted gear would apply. The crafted gear can be the exception to this system so that it doesn't interfere with anything and it doesn't involve actually collecting anything from the content itself. This also benefits from giving people the incentive to run old content again to complete gear sets to turn-in for their collection.
All of this seems entirely plausible for the developers to do and I would like this to be addressed going forward because it seems within the power of the developers considering other NPCs already function this way.
Please take this into consideration going forward.
