Hey gang! I just wanted to give you a heads up that Yoshida is preparing a post in regards to the unmasking of the synced damage display.
Stay tuned!

Ah, good to hear, can't wait to see what it's about. ^^
Awesome, thanks for the update Rukkirii.
Why would we want something that is harder to cure? it seems we have the best of 2 evils. Do not change it if in your internal testing was bad.

Both healing AND damage would be delayed to sync with the number popup animations. It would take some getting used to mostly, and I would like to see a video of it in action but overall I think it would just make FF14 feel more like regular games.
e: Actually was it distinctly said that it would be synched to number popup? If it was synched to the "Moment of impact" since the healing animations start as soon as the spell casts they would still land immediately.

I dont think the issue is that clear. Will the sync affect movement as will? meaning, when you press forward your character will stand still THEN move based on latency?
Or is it strictly concerning actions?
It's just having the damage sync up with on-screen actions. Currently your HP drops at the beginning of the enemy's attack, but with this change the damage would either be when the damage numbers pop up or the moment the monster's attack actually hits you.
If it makes it harder to heal I don't want it and I doubt anyone does.
As I said in the other post, this is why we need test servers, I thought we were supposed to be getting one.
For the love of the twelve offer us a detailed comparison video to show what difference this will make to gameplay, that's the only way the players can make an informed choice - a forum/lodestone post explaining the details in text will not cut it.
I might have missed it, but were there any updates regarding this?
Also, a video won't show much imho, it's best to let us test both scenarios. Just make a "testing week" or something, patching the synched version in for half a week, then reverting to what we have now.
