    [dev1260] Unmasking of 'Synced' damage display

    This is due to the server implementing a wait time in order to make sure the damage, motion, and logs are all synchronized.
    It may not have been a problem if it was implemented from the start, but since it’s not, the feature may cause more stress for the players.
    It’d be great if we could receive feedback regarding this matter (it might be better if a new thread was created specifically for this discussion).
    Rep asked us to make a separate thread, so I decided to! Basically the fact that things are out of sync is not due to the server, but client design and they can easily fix it in other words (it's masked but ready to go at any time) I personally feel this should be done because it's quite jarring and also doesn't lend well to with the actual interface delay we experience as well.

    This I feel would be a very good step to take in rectifying some of the jarring issues with how things seem to be out of sync, this was one of them that I felt should have been fixed quite awhile ago, it does get stressful "in real time", but that's also what keeps you on your toes in a good fight.

    imo they should show video of with and without side by side comparison video to show why they didn't implement but after player feedback can decide if they want to unmask it and see if we like it or not.

    Some vids would be very nice, especially since I'm not sure if I completely grasp everything Yoshi is saying in this post.

    Yeah it's a bit hard to understand even in native Japanese, so it's definitely something that has to be shown off.

    I'd like to see a vid with both versions, too.
    But actually, from what I understand, it will feel as if the lag got worse, so..I guess my answer will be no, I'd rather have non-synchronized stuff happening than waiting many seconds until anything at all happens.

    So the move canceling being implemented is to see if it syncs up if they turn this code on?

    Other than that, I don't see how that response answer it in the Move canceling thread.

    From what it sounds like, I think that implementing this feature causes a delay in the animations, giving the illusion of more lag when it's right in tow with how the client & server are reacting. But there are a lot of questions for this, like how does this affect enemy animations, etc. Could it be easier to get out of Plumes & Cracks, but more sluggish when activating abilities?

    Like others have said, if they want the community to make an informed decision without pissing a bunch of the playerbase off, they should provide a video showing each scenario side-by-side.

    What they can do is figure out why the hell it takes half a second between the time I press a button and the time before my char on my screen starts swinging his axe. If the user inputs a valid command just have the client show your character doing that on the screen. Don't wait for the server to tell you you can do it if it's obvious you can.
