Better the devil you know than the devil you don't.
(i.e. leave it the way it is, at least we're used to the lag we have now).

I think if they're gonna implement this, they should do it asap.
Let us test it, get use to it and get past it.
Is it possible to have the actions happen right away and just delay the log chatter and animations?
or is it possible to have certain actions run the old way (cure, shield bash), and everything else run the new way?
either way means writing new code or adjusting current but it might be worth it to look into

if its one of those things that have been completed and can be more or less switched on and off
why not switch it on for a week then turn it off again on either with a a/b/c patch or just a normal fix patch like emergency maintenances?
We dont have a test server so this is close enough
I have some questions about the "lag". Here is a list if anyone would mind clearing the air for me on this topic of lag:
1) Is this lag the same reason that NPC's and Players take minutes to pop?
2) Is this lag why when I change gear I dissapear for several seconds?
3) Is this lag why buying things from anyone (NPC or player) is so stressfull?
If so, the lag causes the most stress in this game.
For number 2: [dev1278] The delay for executing commands unrelated to chat (such as /action and /equip) has been reduced from 2 seconds to 1. I think this implies that gear macros should swap everything in and out faster.I have some questions about the "lag". Here is a list if anyone would mind clearing the air for me on this topic of lag:

I don't mind that lag so much. It's less about animation and more about the log/text syncing with whats happening on screen.
Examples are:-
Being KO'd and then 2-3 seconds after text popping above you to say you took 1080 damage.
Or when you kill a mob and 2-3 seconds later you take damage from the mob you just killed.
But being KO'd by mobs you don't even see on your screen is terribly frustrating, anyone else got that issue?
I'm not sure it's related but the 1st part of Yoshida's post made me think that it might be:
"When an enemy that is much higher level than you performs a long-ranged attack, you tend to KO prior to actually seeing the damage."
Except in my case it's the mob that I don't see
Two seconds would be an improvement for me. One second for gear swaping would be an acceptable standard.
The NPC/player poping lag is what really stresses me. It is like running around in an empty world.
Yea. I only get that at certain places. Running into the Gridanian Adventurer's guild is one such place. I kinda have to run back out of the guild and then back in for "it to take" and have all the NPCs load.
First of all. I consider this a beta test so go ahead and implement it as a "testing period" and just make sure people know that they are testing it out. Things can easily be changed with a hotfix/patch the next week or two if it goes badly.
Secondly, for Yoshi to come out and say this is actually very very kind of him and I appreciate his insane work on making XIV succeed.
Third, this is one of those cases where a test server with pre-made characters full of gear would be amazing. XI got a test server, I am really shocked to see XIV doesn't have one yet.
Lastly, we need to have more player opinion polls created on the forums and emailed to everyone (even non-current players) to get the best feedback possible. I am including non-current players, because they are a significant majority of who the dev team needs to court back.
Ultimately, I say implement the feature if it is finished. Remember, things can always revert back; and this is still a PAID beta...
