Issues with MSI Nvidia GFX 1050 Ti - noisy gpu playing FFXIV

Apologies in advance for the wall of text. I bought a new graphics card over a month ago, was able to play my favourite games (namely Skyrim and FFXIV) on higher settings, but I've noticed within the last three weeks that the gpu seems to be making a lot more noise. Skyrim is impossible to play, and even on lowest settings within FFxiv, it's struggling and making a heck of a racket :/

I've tried the following things to no avail:

    1. Checking and cleaning any dust from inside the computer, also checked graphics card is fitted properly.

    2. Updated to the latest drivers, using DDU in safe mode and performing a clean install.

    3. Rolling back, not once, but twice, even installing base driver that I was using when the graphics card was running well. Also using DDU and in safe mode.

    4. Checking bios, making sure they are at their defaults, adjusting the bios for quietness/performance.

    5. Have been unable to update the AMD chipset, Windows keeps telling me I already have the correct driver installed (driver dated from September 2014), and also in safe mode.

Below is my system specs, ever since I've had this computer, though specifications seem ok and capable, I've been told the motherboard and/or psu could be too weak, I'm not sure. My FPS is 55, even in crowded areas. I've also noticed that ffxiv.cfg doesn't have my card listed as the main adapter, despite it showing in-game within the System Configuration settings.

    Windows 8.1 64bit
    8GB DDR Ram
AMD FX 6350 cpu six core
    Corsair VS450 psu
    ASUSTek M5A97 LE R2.0 motherboard

I've run MSI Afterburner, and I haven't overclocked this machine (wouldn't know how to, to be honest) and made a note below of results whilst running FFxiv, from what I've read from Googling the results, everything seems ok but... this kind of system knowledge is a bit over my head to be honest

    Fan speed: 51
    GPU Temp: 67C
    Power: 84%
    GPU Usage: 81%
    FB: 67%

I'm not sure what else to try, any advice would be really appreciated. I can't afford a new pc for a long time, but may be able to stretch to a few upgrades within a few months.

Your specs are fine for playing FFXIV up to a 1920x1080 resolution with high/max settings.

Your GPU temps look fine. If your CPU temps are also fine then you will need to isolate the hardware issue.

Are you certain your GPU is making the noise?

I've seen a bug on Windows 8 where if you have a lot of Windows Updates pending then your hard drive will constantly run at 100% which will slow down your system and make a ton of noise.

Yeah I'm up to date on Windows, just checked I have noticed system interrupts within Task Manager, it's just isolating the fault, I've had a hard time finding what it is :/ Yeah I thought my specs were ok, but obviously this ongoing hardware issue needs to be sorted asap! Thank you for your help

    Hey np.

So for FFXIV when you are getting 55 FPS. Was that before the issue? Or is that all you can get now at the lowest setting?

What GTX 1050 ti model do you have? Does it have a separate power plug or is it drawing only from the motherboard?

In MSI Afterburner what does it say the GPU clock is while gaming?

What resolution are you playing at?

    Is VSYNC enabled?

What noise is the GPU making, Coil whine, grinding, ticking etc?

I was getting 60 fps before the issue, and yes at the lowest setting.

It's an MSI GTX 1050 TI OCEAN-PCI express card.

I will start ffxiv and have a look at the GPU clock I'm playing windowed 1920 x 1080. VSYNC was enabled, I disabled it and the issue was still there. The GPU is making a slight whine/grind, but no ticking.
Edit: Core Clock says 1759mhz, memory clock 3504mhz

In LatencyMon, I noticed high DPC/ISR with usbport.sys, storport.sys, dxgkrnl.exe, and hdaudbus.sys, I found a few threads on google where people have had similar issues which is causing performance drops in gaming.

Hmmm. DPC/ISR should only cause performance issues if it's over using resources (pegging CPU @ 100%, high Ram usage, 100% HDD Usage).

Your GPU clocks look ok for that model.

Maybe check the Device Manage and make sure that there isn't anything with a ! for system drivers.

You could also try changing the PCI-e lane that your GPU is installed. That motherboard should have two available for use.

What's the power on your power supply? It's possible that your GPU ain't getting enough juice because the power supply runs at too high capacity all the time.

Thank you very much guys for your help and advice... short version of the story is, after a fresh reinstall, updating everything, I've still got system interrupts. From various forums I've read on the web, the common consensus is that my motherboard is a pile of poo and seems to develop a lot of faults, ASUS M5A97 LE R2.0, and the Corsair power supply VS450 hasn't good write ups either. As you said Driclone, it's not getting enough juice I think I can definitely upgrade that at least! Device manager is looking ok thankfully. Cheers again guys, I will update this post once I've reinstalled and tested just ffxiv, see how that goes.

The DCP/ISR issues aren't causing any performance issues, no high cpu or ram usage, thankfully.

Omg that's a weak power supply. My advice is getting a power supply that can pull from 700 to 900 watt and has a 80+ Gold and higher certification to ensure there's no lack of power. Preferabbly Semi or Full modular to help on the airflow in the machine. I changed mine recently because I kept getting unexpected errors and SE kept calling it a connexion issue. Turns out that the build was asking too much continuously from the power supply so it wasn't able to supply properly and it tended to cause the net connection to give out, or the gpu. Long Story short, got a new one (A seasonic 860 watt 80+ Platinum) and didn't get any issues ever since.

The reason I'm suggesting a high watt count on the power supply is in case you plan to upgrade your build in the future, so having power to spare ain't a bad idea.

Afaik "noise" is an hardware thing, and only thing that makes noise of a gpu, are its fans. Did you open the computer and checked if any cable is near/touching the fans? It also may be a fan gone out of axis. Or them just are working correctly because your environment got hot.
