but not adding a parser isnt not fixing the problem. players who are elitist who most likely use a 3rd party parser and flame some of you isnt gonna change if se doesnt decide to add a personal parser they still will continue to flame you guys regardless if they do add it, it still happens im asking for it from the view point of solely reviewing raw data aka numbers after a fight, i mean some will say they hate them always bosting about numbers but i say if it dont apply let it fly. i dont like minions but i dont hate friends who like them learn to admit its not your cup of tea and let others do them nobody at any point is forced to join partys and be subjected to harassment from others either make your own partys or leave and blist them. bottom line is its a helpful tool and like any tool people will abuse or harass others at some point no way around that but its shouldnt stop it from being in the game and letting others strive to be better at the game

Elitism is not an issue in this game. It exists, but you'd be hard pressed to find any online game with a better community reputation.

Elitism is not some guy offering pointers on how to better play your job. They don't have to be nice about it, be happy they offered you their advice at all. Elitism is not some guy pointing out that you are holding the party back because your damage output is horrid.

Elitism is people thinking they're better than you because they've cleared a12s or links you to their fflogs profile. Xeno comes to mind. That's real elitism. People telling you to git gud because you suck is not. Especially if they're willing to help you out and tell you how to be better, which this community is 99% of the time really good at doing.

I'd say a nice compromise would be give us a DPS meter, but it only works on the Striking Dummies. Those are in the game to be used for getting used to rotations and trying out different combos. Giving us a DPS gauge on them would help further this cause and prevent most of the social issue that they may bring to the game. Which is ultimately what I think Square-Enix is trying to prevent. Plus, the elitist jerks who want to flaunt their numbers in other's faces will just use an external tool to do so anyways.

I honestly agree with this statement. I've actually ran into my fair share of elitist jerks who would ditch dungeons based on party comps alone. I don't want them to have more tools at their disposal.

Honestly? Give up. I know it hurts like hell. As a PS4 player, I want a personal meter REALLY bad. However, Yoshi-P has REPEATEDLY said his piece on it, and even feigns running away from the floor when asked about it.

Just look at the feast, and how Quick Chat is UNANIMOUSLY hated but they keep adding to it. If they're doing that to something like chat, there's no way in hell they're gonna add something that they feel will increase player harassment.

There's also that idol incident in Japan. Yoshi-P was probably really embarrassed about that, and it probably put the nail in the coffin more than anything.

Bad idea, Striking Dummies don't have mechanics, downtime or party compositions. It's a bad testing ground. Sure it tells you your 100% uptime dps rotation. But you are not going to have 100% uptime always and will need to see numbers on the fly and after the fact to see how to minimize the impact said downtimes have on your dps.
Also cd usage, when to save or when to use for max damage during acertain fight. Unless they add mechanics to dummies, which won't happen, this is a useless idea. But I appreciate your effort to make a compromise.

If you were looking at your dps meter all fight... you would notice it would be low because you aren't focusing on the fight. DPS meters are used after a fight to analyze how the fight went, not how it is going.

When you are trying to push content and are dying over and over even when making mechanics knowing that you don't have enough damage to meet the raid requirement is extremely important to know how to progress.

If some people don't have to skill to push out the damage with lower amount of gear, they need to know that they should be farming for better gear before continuing. Where as people who do have the gear can know they are in the right place.

Jerks will be jerks regardless of this. And the people who really care about being the elitist jerks are using 3rd party meters anyways. Having something in game for the rest of us isn't going to change that, only help people out.

Elites are still going to flame so we should just allow it anyway? Well, if they are harassing you that is a violation of ToS. If the are using a third pt program, that is a violation of ToS. Yoshi said they would turn a blind eye so long as you don't talk about it. So if they are violating it then report it. As far as a "great community" this is the only game I know of that won't let you talk to your team because of all the abuse they saw. I am against dps meters.

Maybe if it was only usable in full premades, and not general PF but PW locked PF for cross world groups, then of course an option for full party made in the regular server world. Then at least its not spread to the general public.
