What are your FFXIV memories?

In the final days leading into the new expansion, lots of new changes are coming. New zones, new abilities, new jobs, new story, but also new dynamics between the players of the FFXIV community. Old friends may return, some may leave, new raid statics may form, new adventurers might join your FC, and so on.

Earlier today, the official FFXIV YouTube channel uploaded a short video about the memories we the community create with one another through our adventures in Eorzea (seen here: https://youtu.be/UI06jFY6CLc). The video got me thinking about a lot of the times I spent as a new adventurer years ago, and reminiscing about the friends I shared those times with in the game.

So to pass the time while we wait in anticipation for the future, why don't we take a moment to look back fondly on the experiences we've already had? It can be regarding the completion of battle content, your first day in the game, a story you heard that convinced you to subscribe, etc. However, please keep names anonymous in any negative context to prevent unnecessary drama.

Mysticales.com has my FFXIV screenshots including any server events I host. Just had a great turnout on Pirate day yesterday which lead to a tie that had to be settled in Wolves Den!

Clearing the Final Coil like 20 minutes before the servers went down for the Heavensward expac. It was a magical departure from ARR.

Helping a friend of mine go through Bismarck Normal. Partway through the first part of the fight, the off Tank fell off and was out of it. I jumped in and tanked it with a combination of second wind, Blood Bath, and Fists of Earth to survive it alongside my DPS being massively higher than the rest of the DF party allowing me to solidly hold aggro.

I don't blame the game, but honestly.. as much as I truly tried... I don't have many. Especially compared to ffxi, which was my life.

I'm 90% sure it's just my age... but my biggest disappointment with this game is it didn't have the impact ffxi did.

I will say I have /some/ fun memories with my old raid group in 1.0 and a lil in 3.0. It's mostly just laughs. Nothing I'd put on an "emotional level" like when I was a kid

A few from the early days of 2.0
When fighting the demon wall the first time and slipping off the edge after a jump.

Parrying the demon wall's repel as a dragoon, close to the edge, and not getting knocked back.

Defeating Titan HM for the first time (back when it meant something).

Doing the Crystal tower raids for the first time (FFIII has become one of my favorite titles)

During 3.0
Being incredibly angry towards thordan and his knights after haucerfaunt died, then kicking their butts later.

Exploring the Diadem with my new FC for the first time.

Getting a tank (PLD) up to 50 to use a galmour I've been wanting to do for the past 4 years (Onion Knight).

The many times when I went to Saint Mocianne's Arboretum and had a tank leave in the middle of it and when everyone was about to lose hope, I just went: Let the monk tank it.

Must have happened like 6 time in the first months it got out and I always finished the dungeon. It was hard but dman it felt good.

I've only been playing since September 2016. I don't have a whole lot, but there's three major moments for me:

1. I finally obtained my goal of getting my first and only anima weapon before Stormblood. Just finished about two weeks ago.

2. Got both of the Yo-Kai Watch mounts even though the event was like 75% over when I started playing.

3. The most major moment for me was joining my FC. I have pretty bad social anxiety and have always had a hard time in groups. But nevertheless I went outside of my comfort zone and joined a social FC. I don't regret it because they are the nicest and most helpful group of people and are super accepting of everyone. They've helped me so much both in game and out of game and I have so many fond memories. I'll stop there before I get any sappier
