PotD floors 100+ questions, please help!

Some friends and I are going to start the climb to floor 200 tonight and basically I was curious how daunting of a task this is? We'll be a party of 4 with healer (SCH), tank (DRK or WAR), and 2 dd(NIN or SMN, BLM or MCH). Would this be a good comp or are we better off doing something different? Our weapons/armor are all around 70. Also how would you compare the difficulty of the last 20 or so floors?

I've never tried it, but not having capped weapon/armour is probably a bad thing. And weird? You're basically running endgame content without gearing. Not the demo 100+ was built for.

I've already obtained 1 kinna weapon from PotD and based off what I've calculated we should be hitting 99/99 around floor 120-125 or so which is well before the difficulty ramps up. So personally I don't think it's that weird. But thanks for your opinion from someone who has never tried it.

As I said i've never done it. But 99/99 would be easier. Thanks for the passive aggression, I hope you don't wipe early.

Read what you originally posted and then sit back and think why I would give a response like that.

Did this not too long ago, entering 100+ around 70/70 is fine as long as you hit 99/99 before 150+.

I'd advise bringing along a SMN for that possible extra raise. But if worse comes to worse and pretty much everyone is good as dead, if you have a raising pomander, pop it and whichever two are the last ones standing go run somewhere with no mobs and is safe (to die there). You'll raise there on the spot and not immediately get mauled.

The last 20 floors isn't hard per se, you just need to be careful. The patrols that are a pest is the Chimeras. Their voice moves are one shots. Also, always try to pull one into a open area with ample room to run around.

One strat I was thinking was doing a party comp like this... healer (SCH), tank (DRK), offtank/dd (WAR), and dd (SMN). Just to give us an added safety blanket encase someone gets one shotted or stepping on a landmine at a bad time.

The floor 180 boss is Behemoth. He's a dps race. I personally never did it with 2 tanks in the group, and neither do I know how strong WARs can actually be, but perhaps you guys can pull it off.

EDIT: I also edited my previous post in case you didn't notice. I forgot the raising pomander is moot if the last person dies and tries to get raised. You fail it. So it is the last 2 people. Both go to separate safe spots; the first of the two to die will re-raise while the other dies in vain.
