    [Request] Glam for "Mages" that turns weapon hidden to use hands for spells.

    Just a thought I would really like.. Not every mage in the world of fantasy or even Final Fantasy, needed a staff or wand to cast spells. So why do we?

    Idea is for a glam item that can hide the weapon but instead allow the use of your hands to cast. I know this would make it seem like a MNK.. but still this would be a nice touch.

    Even in FFXI the WHMs didnt use the staff to cast. We channeled it and then released.


    Or for others who would love a RDM Elf or Au Ra type idea...

    They would have to give BLM and RDM entirely new animation sets for their spells. That is a lot of work. WHM could probably be adapted since its uses on hand to cast already but it might look a bit weird for some spells without a new animation set.

    Either way it's quite a lot of extra work for only a handful of the jobs. I don't think its likely.

    Casting with hands is not a part of Final Fantasy image. The weapon has nearly always been a focus for casting dating back to the very beginning.

    I can think of only a handful of exceptions - FF6, FF8, FF11, FF13, However in these games you still equipped caster weapons to amplify your casting power (staves, rods, ect)... except in FF13, which honestly is an outlier to being with.

    Don't think you'll make much progress on this request, friend. Additionally, they'd have to invent entirely different animations for all races which is a pretty time intensive project. I'd rather them work on something more meaningful.

    This. MNK/PLD can get away with their invisible weapons because it does not alter their animations. What is being asked for is way too much. Never going to happen.

    I am not opposed to this...

    I actually want to be able to glamor 1h weapons over 2h weapons on blm and whm... but this would work too.

    I just know it would be neat for them to try to look at it. I mean I get animations are trickier to make for some things however a game thats focused on "Customizing" this is no different to keep it expanding. Some of us dont need a sword or staff to channel their powers.

    I absorb magic directly. (Still wish I could recreate this img... I had the cure magic swirly going no matter where I was)

    hidden weapons will only hide the weapon, not change the cast animation (see monk)
