    Bad communication

Is it just me or did the whole communication about Stormblood was a big mess? All the 3 keynotes were mostly rince and repeat, ok we know the name of the primals added every patch and new jobs.
But at the end who did the most of the work? Journalists, those who went to the event media, not SE. They made us learn more about the expansion than what SE has done ever since its annuncement. And now we're waiting after a patch note they seem to not wanna release before the opening of the servers, when nobody will be reading it. Can't even count on the live reading since it's at 5AM. What happened to the preliminary patch note we get every time some days before a patch?

Journalists reporting what they saw for the public is the very nature of their job and the patch notes are out.

They owe you NOTHING. This is how it should be done. Just because other games spoil their ENTIRE expansion months before release does not mean that is how it should be done. Too much information always leads to people losing thier collective minds over something they haven't played. See every whm thread.

Their communication is fine, your perceived entitlement is horrible.

I like it this way... I like the super secret stuff, I find it more nice that way... I don't even read up on news untill there is an actual patch or whichever with an update and I usually first notice when I can't log in as it is downloading stuff or servers is down for maintaince.

    It is better that way

They released the preliminary notes for Heavensward just 3 days before the start of that early access, a mere two days difference to when we have the prelim notes for this expansion. You're seriously getting worked up over two days difference?

Also, the communication with journalists is a two-way street - they get the information from the live letters and other such events (which despite your description revealed new information each time), which influences the questions they ask, and then SE has to be willing to answer those questions...which they have for the most part, though with their hallmark caution of (compared to the reveal nearly everything approach of some or the reveal next to nothing of others).

Seems like you're really reaching to be upset over something.

But they aren't working for SE while still doing their job.

Personnally I hate when nothing is said. I can't know if I might enjoy a game if I can't really see what it is about. Annuncing an expansion without showing much is like taking profit of your liking for the game to make you buy something you are not sure to enjoy. That's why I barely buy any game without having played a demo first.

If you think Square's communication is bad, you have not been following how silent Blizzard is to their player base. Coming from WoW, I'm overwhelmed with how chatty and nice and social the devs (and players, for that matter) in this game are. Be thankful that it's as good as it is!
