    Swiftsong: Enmity vs Aggro

So this is the wording from the patch notes:

Increases movement speed of all party members within range. Effect fades when enmity is generated by or against you.

Is aggro considered a form of hate? If I'm hit from a mob I run by will the effect fade? I ask because quickstride now is effective for escape and running through areas (ie Darkhold). The could prove less than useful if it is only effective outside where you can use a chocobo. What set quickstride apart was its abilty to work indoors.

    Thoughts, opinions? Thanks!

When you get aggro you generate enmity against the mob chasing you, hence the blinking red, even if the mob is yellow.

You raised a very good point however, if you lose it I don't see its use. It will not work in darkhold or any other dungeons where you need to run by mobs. I hope SE thought of this.

From the way it is worded I would think that as long as you don't gain any aggro the effect will still be active. So other members can do things and still gain the effect as long as you do nothing but stand there and give out the speed buff.

And if it doesn't work like that and anyone who gains aggro loses the buff then it would still be useful when running through towns as a way to speed yourself up when you can't use a chocobo.

That is fine, it's great you can speed up through towns, but it seems that it will affect speed runs through darkhold. We need more opinions here.

But won't it affect Darkhold sped runs positively since the hallways are not all filled with mobs and there is some double backing thru the dungeon when going for 100% chest completion? I think it will still be useful even if it's broken by the periodic mob encounter.

You get agro from the beginning in darkhold and you keep agro with the exception of a few rooms and stops. If you lose quickstride as soon as those mobs link on you there is no more running fast, it's running normal, which is still do-able, but a bit annoying.
Some chests were pretty heavily dependant on quickstride as well. Maybe we are reading this wrong.

As I see it, that will be "working as intended."

They changed Hermes Shoes to fail when you gain aggro a while back, so this is SE finishing the job. I don't think there's any encounter where SE intends for you to be able to run by things without sleeping them.

For further reference, see the chocobo mechanic in XIV vs. pretty much every other FF ever. Is there another FF where you can be attacked by normal enemies while on chocoback?

isnt this exactly like chocobo mazurka from ffxi, seems like an intended side effect. Its not like you need this for getting past mobs, to me it seems more like getting your party from mob to mob quicker

Sounds good i'm just a bit concerned it being called "Swiftsong" i thought it was a mistake at first as it sounds like a Bard skill, i hope i'm wrong.
