Chocobo breeding question

Hi so trying to breed a decent chocobo for the 285 rating.. got about 6 pedigree 8 females ranging from 14 to 17 total stars varying slightly in some stats.. no matter how many times i get them to breed always get females..

Is there a way to manipulate genders in breeding results?

No.

Make sure you breed the same pair 10 times to get the most of out them. If you dont get a male then you will either have to use a previous ped or buy one from the gs. They can be quite good, you just need some luck.

Yeah got a cpl females 4/3/4/2/4 still have 7 breedings left trying to get some males to fill in the gaps but alwaya get females lol

I am not 100% sure about this, but I think that you get the 285 rating by reaching rank 50 on a pedigree 9 chocobo. I've had a pedigree 9 chocobo on two different characters, and in both cases, I got the achievement the very instant I reached rank 50. Both my chocobos had the exact same star ratings though (4* everywhere except 1* in acceleration), so I can't tell whether the star ratings matter or not.

You are correct, however if you want to complete all of the challenges you will need a full star chocobo.

I have completed all challenges with ease on both my pedigree 9 chocobos with little hassle once maxed out with grade 3 feed.

Read need atleast 18 stars n rank 9 to reach the 285 rating dont know how true that is tho since only rank 9s i got arent great in terms of stars.. n you guessed it are females lol ._.

So hit rating 285 with 17 stars at lvl 50 so guess 17 / 20 is bare minimum for getting achievement
