How's BLM looking?

Smn is not getting the most nerfs though. HW blm aoe was nerfed as was other spells, Sb we are getting Fire 2 nerfed.
I honestly think all 3 jobs, Red, blm and smn will be close to each other damage wise, granted Red Mage aoe sounds like it will be on the low end, even behind SAM...
People like to cry and argue when none has had enough time with the jobs yet. Everyone is going by what those fortunate enough to try the jobs at the conference but it is certainly as hell not enough to say oh this job sucks, bleh bleh. When people actually are able to level the jobs and run actual content, then and only then we can see real results

I really don't understand why everyone is only latching on to the smallest nerf to BLM when it's getting Umbral Hearts to cast multiple Flares in a row without going MP=0, a triple swiftcast for said flares, Foul, and an AoE thunder spell that also procs thundercloud. I'll take the small potency loss on Fire 2 for all of that because it's a huge net gain.

Yeah its not even really a nerf... its actually a buff...

Losing 20 potency on Fire II, but gaining 30 potency in Thunder 2 as it now Becomes an AoE... means BLM actually went from 100 potency Fire II down to 80... to now using Fire II (80)+ Thunder II (30) for a total of 110 potency.

So its actually a decent AoE buff, not even including the Flare idea you're talking about.

AND it procs on top of that... and we all know the type of damage a single Proc will add on too.

Actually, Fire 2 is now 80*1.8-144 vs 100*1.8 =180. Add the 30 from thunder II and you're still at a 6 potency nerf. While Foul and Umbral Hearts will more than make up for that, you're assumption that it's 110 potency and therefore a buff is wrong, as you didn't factor the AF3 potency increase.

My point was not that exactly it was moreso to the user almost complaining that smn would be left so far in the dust when it is NOT. All jobs are getting some sort of nerfs

No actually BLM got an AoE mega buff... that's the point. There were no nerfs.

That's like the complete opposite of what is happening. SMN had a birthday and BLM took its presents. That's the kind of level of what's happening here. Not sure why you don't see that.
