Well the people that tried it at the conference and showed their numbers in the videos... were doing level 60 damage... with a 70th level character... so that's a bad sign right there...
While its true the Tooltips could be in error... I'd expect one or two... not all of them.
But to list them...
Ruin 3: down to 150 potency from 200.
Ruin 4: at 200 (DPS we do at 60th currently)... but only a 15% chance to proc
Tri Disaster only includes two buffs at level 60 for 70 potency per tick... used to be 3 DoTs for 110 potency. No longer a 3rd stacked DoT.
Bane: Now does -20% per target down to -80% per target... combined with the DoT nerf its completely unusable.
Bliz 2: no longer available loss of 75 potency per 3 seconds spammed on top of DoTs
Miasma 2: no longer available AoE total 70 potency stacked on DoTs
It combines for an enormous loss of sustained damage. And an estimated 60% or more dps loss from BANE when combined with the missing DoT. Playing this thing level synced will be impossible at this point unless it changes. Now you only have a whopping 2 Painflares, a Mega Nerfed Bane, and one Deathflare in an AoE cycle.
So about a 30% DPS loss or more on DoTs. (not including loss of Miasma II or the Bliz 2 spam, or BANE).
The pet has Maim and Mend on it now but that's the only thing making up any Single Target damage at this point. And its not even close to being able to bring it back up to the level of Single Target DPS lost.
The AoE damage has been crippled... with the BANE nerf and removal of Miasma II, Contagion, and Bliz 2. Once the Summoner has spent his 2 Painflares (200 potency) and Deathflare (440 potency)... he's spent.. and done.
The BLM by contrast now has been buffed... Fire 2 + Thunder II alone when combined with Flare and possible Triplecast as was brought up here, is going to outstrip it... AND can be done over and over again... once the SMN spends his Painflares and Deathflare... he's done.
DPS won't even be remotely close anymore... as to where previously BLM and SMN were fairly close to each other, one stronger in Single Target, the other Stronger in AoE...
The Bahamut Summon is buried behind 3 Aetherflow stacks at 1 minute CD each. So it won't even be a factor in the long run. So basically SMN will do nerfed damage the majority of the time... and then for 20 seconds every 3 minutes be able to do some enhanced damage
Summoner now hits bottom of the pile. I seriously doubt it can even beat Red Mage in Single Target. So no... the BLM actually got mega buffed, and they're no longer even competitive with each other.
I am hoping either the Tooltips were in serious error... or the Devs reverse course before launch...
Barring that, its no contest... BLM will be my main.
