    Why Not Make Limit Break Interesting Already?

    I don't get why the opportunity is missed with expansion after expansion. Limit break as a current mechanic is so boring. Build it up through dungeon than do lb on final boss. So lame.

    Why not have some sort of meaningful party interaction to build (skill chains in ff11?) Or at least have it be usuable on a practical level multiple times in a dungeon or encounter.

    I dont understand why the LB isn't some sort of mini-game (e.g. pressing direction Buttons in a certain order, the more you miss the less damage you do) instead of watching a castbar.

    I agree that LBs should be revisited. For healers, there is really only 1 that is usable and that is the LB3. Any other LB is a total waste and thus, healers can only LB on raids. I'd prefer that healer LBs always Rez people but at 33, 66 and 100% healths depending on the LB.

    In PvP everyone has their own Limit Break meter, its only 1 bar, but I like being able to use my own Limit Break. If you play a healer in PvE content only time you will use a Limit Break is during raids, this boring.

    And even LB3 is only used when things went seriously south. Similarly, tank LB is only used when the encounter says:"Raid wide damage that guarantees wipe without tank LB incoming".

    Since LB is a group resource, it pretty much falls under the DPS meta, which means tank and heal LB should never be used unless you absolutely need it and otherwise you just pick the one that does the most damage - Ranged for AoE, Melee for Single-Target.

    You have just described a quick time event, and depending how they are done are the worst idea in gaming ever.


    I like the idea of skill chains building it up though.

    I'd probably have no one in raid group to pull it if they'd make it annoying like that.

    Ironic given that we're likely getting them as mechanics in boss fights now. The Cruise Chaser fight was a test for a QTE system that now has its own dedicated UI element in the expansion so we'll be seeing a lot more of them I expect.

    Interestingly enough, there are a bunch of things that build LB, but people don't know it.

    Tanks build on taking damage, but also on interrupts. DPS build on killing enemies, but also on critting and interrupts. Healers build from critical heals and also from healing a tank from 10% or below health.

    If the wiki is accurate, that last one feeds constant LB until the bar fills. O.o

    I would love more of a personal limit gauge. Yes the attacks may not be as visually amazing if they go that route, but be more interesting then now.
