Can we PLEASE get a GC Re-Assignment?

There is absolutely no reason for our not being aloud to change company. It was a Horrible design decision that has come back to haunt people constantly.

Allowing us to change companies would not hurt this game in any way.

One thing this game seriously needs is something definite, something different from the "you can do everything you want but since that is kind of impossible everything is kind of the same".
I'm not happy with the choice to make CNJ and THM into pre-white and black mage because I liked them before, but it was needed to define their roles.
GCs are kind of the same:
If you were able to hop from one GC to the next all the time, there would be no sense of belonging to something.
It would also be the opposite of what a GC actually is - an army of rival cities.
I doubt they'd just let you go and join their rivals..

It's a shame you and your friend choose different cities. But there were plenty of warnings that new items and drops would come from each city etc. and to not pick one based on the current rewards. Besides, once we get jobs and time goes by, maybe the very city you are both in now IS the city you want to fight for.

I think that it is a GOOD thing people can't change their Guild Company. We need some pride/competition events and game play added to this game and these companies are one way to do it. Guild Companies might even be a way of building friendships and creating teamwork between people who would otherwise never meet in game. Also good.

If and it's a BIG If, they ever allowed for a guild company change it should be one HECKA quest to betray your current city to join the ranks of the other. After all, who wants a traitor on their team :P

This being said: I wouldn't expect being able to change companies until sometime WAYYY after 2.0 comes out. However, in time yes, it will probably be added. But it's not something as simple as letting you swap companies by answering a couple menus. If it was, we'd all think 'boy, that was lame.' Properly setting it up that we can switch guild companies will require quests, storylines, punishments etc. that all take time to plan, create, write, localize, test, etc. ...time SE is spending doing other, more important things. (Again, they warned us MANY times Company Choice is forever)
