It's a game but:

1. You were FORCED to do all 3 Grand Company introductory quests. - This alone was to tell you the decision is final, that's why you had to be absolutely sure. The only benefit to doing everything as same company is slightly more seals per Ifrit fight/Darkhold/etc, nothing major.

2. You were TOLD to chose the Grand Company that interested you more.

3. If we're going to just say screw lore and storyline, would you be ok with playing an MMO with zero story? There has to be choices made that affect things in an RPG (kind of the reason people were wanting SWTOR...) if you can just free hop between military organizations, what's the purpose of Player Companies being introduced?

The one you like is the most rewarding one.

For any developer to think for a second their player base would not all tunnel to an area of the most highest value doesnt understand the mmo player base 1 bit.

Its why we all use X class or X gear, its why we all station in Uldah, because everyone playing only does what is best for them and best in the game.

No one does things because they like it that way. Its why you were all forced to level Sentinel to do Ifrit, or have a lancer levelled.

The OP and friend may not have been present for the Yoshida response that advised us to pick the Grand Company we want to and not based off the Grand Company rewards.

Hi OP. At present, there is not a method in place to change Grand Companies once a character has joined. It may be reconsidered further after the implementation of 2.0.

doesn't mean it might happen, and I strongly against the switch companies since most already know when "Free Companies" available, player from different companies can join and do group stuff together.

ps: for ppl who dont know what purpose have "Free Companies" go read some of the old interview in the forum

Even if they missed the warning from devs, the game warm you 3 times in a row. What's their excuse then ?

ya you should have ignored LL and Grid like most ppl realized 1 main hub/city would be a bigger pool of teammates....

Nothing in game said I would be punished for doing Ifrit with my friend, and nothing in game told me that I would not be able to do Chocobo Caravans with my friend.
