Laptop for Stormblood

Hey guys,

I'm looking to pick up a laptop to play Stormblood on when it's release next week, I've got around £500-£1000 to spend so hoping to pick up something reasonable enough to run the game on mid-high settings. Does anyone have any recommendations of what would be worth having a look at?

I'm using a MSI GE62VR Apache Pro and I got pretty good rating when I did the benchmark test. (it was around 10.5k I think) This was with max settings.

The Dell looks great for the price, I'd most likely go for the 1050Ti upgrade but other than that everything else seems better or equal to what every one else is offering and a little bit cheaper!

I'm only seeing the MSI GE62VR for £1399....

Although I've just read the HP are launching a new Omen range this month so unsure if I should hang tight until that information is released.....

£1500-£2000 on Amazon - I really don't want to be "that guy" but if you don't know the price point of the laptop or are unsure then please don't recommend as that's two offerings of which both come in considerably beyond budget....

Also, if anyone is gaming on a budget laptop would you please be able to post your Stormblood benchmark as I'd be interested in knowing this

no, I really suggest finding something with a 1060 in it (or higher but those would be out of budget)

Also if you see say 970,980, anything with x70/x80 might wanna look into those if you catch a sale.

A laptop is not going to give you as good performance at the same price point as a desktop in most cases because they prefer things that don't get as hot or use as much power in them. My suggestion to get something playable would be to look at the Minimum and get above that and then see how much you can get above recommended. Pretty much anything that fits that description will play fine.

Go with one with 1050ti, even if you have to sacrifice on specs... or jump on eBay and find a 980m laptop. The extra power will make a difference for ffxiv, especially with the graphical upgrades they're making with the game.
